Was in Pittsboro visiting family and they suggested going to The Mod. They hadn't dined here yet, but saw it walking past and they were intrigued, so I was happy to follow their suggestion!
First, the outside is amazingly inviting! The deck had a lit fire, nice seating areas, but we opted for inside since it was a little chilly.
Score---live music on Saturday night! We walked in and I was stoked to have live music as an added bonus. We sat ourselves as directed by a server. Hardwood floors, quaint seating, open air, high ceilings - all make this a trendy and comfy dining locale.
They have a great bar menu, local brews and wine showcases, a great menu of wood fired pizza and sandwiches, and scrumptious salads. I ordered the Margherita pizza, 12-inch but could have easily split with someone. The strawberry spinach salad is amazing! Balsamic and strawberries are a great pair anytime!
Our server was ah-mazing, and our food was delivered at a great pace, we enjoyed convo and drinks and didn't wait long, but it was timed well. Fresh ingredients, great atmosphere, music, and spirits make this place a must-dine in Downtown Pittsboro! I can't wait to go back when it's warmer and...

I Offered to clean off a table as it wasn’t very clean. Server (Devonte) said not to worry, he’ll do it. I saw he was extremely busy as he was doing everything but cooking. He cleaned it off right away and took care of us as best he could.
We watched as this hustling young man performed host, server, cashier and bus boy duties, while one other employee worked the kitchen. With 2 people total running the restaurant, we were surprised we didn’t wait longer than we did.
The wait wasn’t awful, and we weren’t in a rush anyway. Even if we were, we couldn’t have even justified complaining as this kid ran his a$$ off trying to provide the best service as possible.
Food was very good. We ordered pizzas, burger, sandwiches and wings and were amazed one person could churn out everything around the same time and without errors. It wasn’t until the end a 3rd employee appeared to help serve. Hats off to your hard working skeleton crew. Hopefully it’s a labor issue every industry is facing, and not an owner trying to save money on staff.
Would definitely come in again in the future. Great job, Devonte...
Read moreNormally I would rate their food a 4/5, but the last time I got food. There was a HUGE bone hidden in my bahn-mi sandwich, I messaged and sent photos to show said bone, and have yet to receive a response, not even an acknowledgement to this issue. (Facebook has this nifty feature allowing me to see they have read my message.) For reference the bone was the size of a ping pong ball, it could have chipped or broken a tooth, luckily it did not. If I can manage to make food without huge bones when plating, a place who makes food for a living should be able to do the same, and also they should be prepared to respond and rectify when it is brought to their attention. For this I will rate a 1/5, and do not plan on ordering from them anytime soon.
Update: End of May a full month and 15 days from my 1st message alerting of bone, i get offered a 25 gift certificate, thought things were done and would have grabbed up the cert and reviewed again...but then Sunday June 9th - i receive random message with threats and personal attacks ensue over my honest 1star...
