Read moreI recently visited the new brewery in town, Havoc, with the intention of enjoying the Hurricane’s playoffs. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a series of unprofessional incidents and negative vibes that left a sour impression, much akin to a badly brewed IPA. My excitement over the game quickly dissipated as the owner made it all too clear that 10 pm was closing time and kicked everyone out before the game ended. This lack of consideration for paying customers who were engaged in the game was highly disappointing. I then had to move to the establishment next door, where they assured me the doors would be open for as long as the game was on. While there and watching the game, the bartender from Havoc, without invitation or prior agreement, approached us and wasted no time in engaging in conversation. While enthusiasm can be appreciated, I was taken aback by his relentless efforts to make fun of and express a desire to shut down other breweries in the area. It felt disheartening to witness such a lack of camaraderie and respect within our local brewing community. I happen to be friends with the owners of one of the local craft breweries, which made this encounter all the more uncomfortable for me. As someone who enjoys exploring the craft beer scene and supporting local breweries, I believe in fostering a positive environment that encourages growth, collaboration, and mutual support. This employee's behavior not only tarnished the image of their own brewery but also reflected poorly on the entire industry. I believe that a thriving brewing community should embrace healthy competition, focus on delivering quality products and experiences, and celebrate the diversity and uniqueness of each establishment. Engaging in negative tactics and openly expressing a desire to shut down other businesses goes against the spirit of community and undermines the collective progress of our local beer scene. I hope that this review serves as constructive feedback for the management of the new brewery. It is crucial to address such unprofessional behavior and ensure that employees are trained to represent the establishment in a positive light. Building bridges within the community, rather than tearing them down, will not only attract loyal customers but also contribute to the overall success of the brewing industry in our town. I would advise potential visitors to consider the values and ethics of a brewery before supporting it. It's important to support establishments that promote inclusivity, collaboration, and a healthy competitive spirit while embracing the richness and diversity of our local...
Read moreI live in Pittsboro and visit this brewery fairly often. I will often bring my well behaved, friendly dog with me. This brewery is very dog friendly, which i love. They even have dog treats behind the bar. I love being able to grab a beer, enjoy the live music and order from the food trucks that they offer. All of the trucks I've gotten food from have been amazing!!
Overall I would give this venue 5 stars, however I felt compelled to lower my rating as I witnessed a female manager being verbally abusive to her staff multiple times during different visits. She was talking to staff in a very derogatory manner which I did not appreciate. People make mistakes. This does not give you the right to treat staff with disrespectful tones and words. It definitely gave me a sour taste in my mouth..... and I wasn't drinking a sour. I almost said something to her directly it was so nasty. I was told her name is Rhiannon and she is a manager at the bar. There is absolutely no reason to treat your staff this way and I hope that this is brought to her attention and she changes her communication tactics. This is seriously not okay, especially in front of customers.
This brewery has an amazing selection of beers, ciders and sours and the bartenders are very attentive and helpful in choosing a drink. They will let you try whatever you'd like. I will be visiting again! However I will not accept witnessing staff being mistreated again. I regret not saying...
