We were greeted by a very nice woman Eleanor, who shared some history about former president Grover Cleveland with us. She really knows a lot and kept it interesting with "fun facts!" We then did our tour with Jeremy who not only knew a lot about the trading post, and every detail thereof, he had this contagious excitement, that made it fun to learn all the facts along the way. At the end we made our way to the gift shop where we met Miss J. She was sweet, welcoming, and really a "J of all trades!" We really enjoyed our conversation with her. Overall, they are great at their job and we hope to see them again on our next visit!

I can't believe I grew up on the Cape and never heard about this museum. I was walking the canal with my family and we saw the back entrance and decided to explore. It's very small but beautiful. The staff was incredible. My son did the treasure hunt and when we went to the gift shop to collect his prize the ladies allowed my 2 year old twins to pick something out as well. The staff really engaged with the kids and the gift shop was so cute. Will definitely be back!

Nice small historic site on the Cape Cod Canal bike trail (Cape side near RR bridge). Replica ships, homestead with artifacts, gardens and salt works demo provide a mini-museum of early Cape life. Small play area for kids and picnic tables in shade to sit and relax.

What a nice surprise! There's a windmill with a carousel inside. The horses are hand carved by the operator who powers the carousel by sitting in the middle and pedaling! There's an early Puritan trading house on the canal. The docent was very knowledgeable and gave a great tour. We capped off our visit in the gift shop where we found different kinds of decorations, children's furniture, and other items made by local craftspeople. Everything is...
