Disappointed at this one. First our table was taken by a single walk in that decided without asking that he would be more comfortable at a table than the counter he was given and the staff thought not to ask him to move so that the reserved people could sit. This delayed our reservations by 30 min for our 19th anniversary. Ok, we didn't think much of it at that point. They seemed more interested in babysitting the 2 children at 7pm then there customers. Then after finally getting a table and 15 min of looking at the menu the waitress asked if we were ready to order. At that time just as we were to order she says "oh did the owner tell you about what's not on the menu"? Then she mentions the 3 out of 4 thing's that we came to the restaurant to try. This restaurant is closed on mondays and being Tuesday that accounts for poor planning. Especially when your talking potatoes, hummus and chicken ingredients in the recipes. So we asked for a couple more minutes. We ordered an appetizer and our entrees. 40 minutes later we got bread. Did I mention there are only 6 tables in the place? About 10-15 more minutes go by and out come our entrees? I said we never got our appetizer! The waitress says, what did you order? At that point we just canceled the app. During our wait we saw her seat 3 more parties and did the same thing in regards to giving them no heads up to what dishes were not available. One party walked out the other 2 showed obvious disappointment in there expressions. The only reason I'm still giving them 3 stars is my wife's steak was very good and the owner paid for the drinks because of the wait. We will try...
Read morewe decided to go to this restaurant after looking at Google reviews. it was rated 4.8 out of 5 and i can see why !
Stomping Grounds Grille had excellent service and absolutely delicious food.
we started our lunch with the bake stuffed scallop which was delicious. then we moved onto Charlie’s chowder which my friends and I agree that was one of the best chowders we ever had and we have tried many many chowders (my goal is to make a perfect chowder in a bread bowl) iThe chowder was fantastic. We also had the mussels, and shrimp cocktail . All delicious. I absolutely loved the lobster roll.; after all this food, we were stuffed.
So for the big question…would we go back there again ? We all agreed that we ABSOLUTELY WOULD GO BACK AGAIN (but i think i would order less food… we were starving and went alittle overboard on ordering food but it was so DELICIOUS we finished it all
by the way, this restaurant is owned by a mom and her son. whatever they are doing, don’t change your formula because it REALLY works…everything...
Read moreExtremely small space, but tables are far enough apart, that you don't feel crowded. Situated in a house, actual dinning space is equivalent to a dining room and living room. Lots of unique music items and vinal record albums on display, but no big windows to make the space feel "open". Service was excellent. Food was slow to come but very original hand made and uniquely done. Real crunchy coslaw, actually real chicken wing portions (not chicken nuggets in Buffalo sauce) see Pic. Club sandwich was a real chicken breast and not thin sliced meats; and the clam chowder actually is filled with what tastes like a sweet hardy bowl of lobster and crab in a bisque, not a creamy bowl of potatoes and clam,, it was truly amazing. Beer is by can only, and mixed drinks are fully written out, so you know what's in it. We visited for a late lunch and only 3 other tables were in use, so a very quiet place at our...
