One of the most relaxing places on the planet in my eyes. Great place to ride your bike, go for a lunch sitting by the canal. Take a walk on the canal road, ride your bike, skateboard, great place to to take the dog for a walk. All while getting to see the train bridge come down during the summer months. There's paths that show the history of the canal, one of the most unique places & its right in our back yard.
Or take your saltwater pole and go catch you some big ol stripers right from the rocks. Just don't be the guy who takes home oversized stripers KEEPERS ARE 28" TO 31", or DONT KEEP undersized stripers. Anglers should and will call the game warden on you. Let's get the fish population back up. Rec fisherman, we need to do our part to keep these amazing fish populations up. Nothing like seeing the canal look like it's boiling as Striped Bass chase Mackerel through the canal. Top water lure, and it's on. Just be careful to not scrape the fish on the rocks. One of the best places...
Read moreWe went to the splash pad, we haven't gone to it for years and decided to give it a try for the kids to cool down on a hot day and it was a complete disaster. There is trash all over the benches, clothing, towels, hats, etc let all over the fences that have been forgotten. We were there for about 15 minutes in that time six kids fell multiple times in the same spot in the splash pad. Several moms told me that they noticed the past week that all the kids were falling in the same spot and they weren't sure why. After my child fell flat on his back a grandmother told me she noticed algae growing in the spot and thinks that is why everyone is falling. We left shortly after we had gotten there because a little boy fell and smashed his mouth. There was blood everywhere. We will drive farter away next time so our kids can go to a splash pad that is...
Read moreFree parking, gazebo, covered pavillion area with seating, numerous benches for sitting and splash park, alongside the Cape Cod Dinner Train station and adjacent to the canal and connecting to the wide & flat canal bike path. Our dog loved the short walk alongside the canal and many people and pets along the way. Lots of activity on a late Friday afternoon in late summer. Just what a park should be. Train Bridge was also lowered and raised to allow the train to cross the canal during our short visit. Well worth visiting, and be sure to bring a rod and reel if the stripers...
