8/28/18. I am giving a 5 star rating, but with one glitch...
Great well kept park, great dogs and owners that came to visit. At one point we had four goldens, a wolfhound and other big varieties! It was really windy/cold but the dogs didn’t mind. It’s one of the best maintained dog parks we’ve seen. As full time RVers, we try to find local dog parks so that our large dogs can have fun, play, socialize and exercise.
Now for the glitch: Within two hours of getting “home” to our camper with our two goldens and Chesapeake Bay Retriever, our 7 yr old Chesapeake - who has not been sick -began to have diarrhea. It’s worse and continuing this morning. The only common factor we can think of is the tennis balls that are currently out on the ground. We were there at 7pm Monday. She is the one who played most with the balls. Our other two goldens played a little with the balls but moreso just played with other dogs. They haven’t started to have issues yet, thankfully.
Probably unrelated, another female golden began throwing up liquid and the owner took his dogs right away.
I left a detailed message at the number provided for the dog park, which is the Animal Shelter. I just wanted to make someone aware there maybe an issue - just with the balls on the ground now. I’d go pick them up and discard; however we are moving on today. I hope this helps everyone, Healthy dogs...
Read moreSmall dog park (but well kept) Street parking or lot at Animal Shelter next door. Fully fenced two seperated areas, one for small dogs and one for Large. Single shared double gated entrance. Garbage bins and poop bags in the shared entrance. Water on site and working as of this review. Bowls provided Benches and shade. Open roof pavilion in each section. Low cut grass covers the majority of both parks. Unfortunately there were no other dogs when we visited. No...
Read moreI've been to multiple dog parks in town. This one has the friendliest people, access to water, and is fenced. Everyone raves about Bartz, but I've found that the people here are more enjoyable and my dogs have more dogs to play with here. Plus Bartz is not exclusively a dog park and can be dangerous due to archery classes and people practicing shot put. We're happy to have Katie's dog park around and love seeing our...
