Riverwoods Event Venue and Gardens formerly the Rosewood — Attraction in Pocatello

This review is a long time coming! I just thought about it again recently when my sister got married and I talked her out of using Rosewood. I realized that I still needed to leave my review so here it is...

We were never given our refund when we cancelled our wedding 5 months in advance. (Pre-COVID) My husband and I were told we would get our deposit back because our date was in May (busy season) but we never could get in contact with the owner again after that. We called several times, left messages, and tried to catch her at the reception center in person multiple times but we never heard from her again. Often we would stop by on our way home but she was never there. Terrible business practices! You can never plan for family emergencies, so beware with this place! If something unexpected happens months before your wedding and you need to cancel or reschedule she will keep your money and go MIA. I figure she really must have been hurting for money if she couldn't refund a deposit with almost half a years notice AND during wedding season. Needless to say, we got married somewhere else and we don't...

Both myself and my sister had our weddings here. I had my wedding here in June 2008, my sister in July 2011. Both were beautiful. We had the ceremony outside, and dancing inside. The bridal and grooms' rooms were a huge reason why we chose Rosewood. They were both adequately sized. The sound system was loud and nice. The fridge for the flowers is a must have on a hot day. I would say the only major downside was the simplicity of the kitchen. There is no stove. This makes it very difficult to keep dishes warm. One can use chaffing dishes - but it would have been so nice to have several industrial ovens for warming/cooking food. Another thing that was lacking was outdoor tables and chairs. I am not sure if this has changed in the last 8 years - but we had to rent our outdoor tables and chairs from a 3rd party company. (There are very nice tables and chairs for INSIDE the facility - but these may not be taken outdoors).

What a beautiful venue, but the manager, Natasha Hollowell is what makes it so special!! Her creativity, work ethic, eye for detail, and incredible service to her customers is what makes choosing this venue for your next event a no brainer.

We booked a birthday party there and we just shared a few ideas of what we were thinking and when we arrived, it was like we stepped into a wonderland. She could have done simple decorations and it would have been fine but she went above and beyond to create a wonderful setting for us! In addition, the pictures she took for us during the event turned out amazing!

Now we have a way to remember our special day. She is a very gifted photographer as well!

Riverwoods is a well kept secret including their talented manager, Natasha Hollowell!! I plan to book more events there...
