At just 1.8 miles roundtrip, the hike to Marymere Falls has a lot of reward for minimal effort. The trail takes you through an old growth forest, over a couple of cool bridges and up a series of steps to several viewpoints for this 90-ft waterfall. A definite must-see on your visit to Olympic National Park. #waterfallwednesday

🎥 @themandagies ・・・ One of our favorite, family-friendly hikes in Olympic National Park…Marymere Falls Trail! 🌲💦 At only 1.7 miles out and back, with less than 300 feet elevation gain, it’s a perfect trail to stretch your legs at Lake Crescent. With old growth forest, river crossings, a waterfall and more, it’s a classic PNW hike! #olympicnationalpark #marymerefalls #hikeolympic #lakecrescent #olympicnps #washington #hikewashington #pnw #pacificnorthwest

Marymere Falls Trailhead: A Tranquil Journey into Nature

My visit to Marymere Falls Trailhead was nothing short of enchanting. Nestled in the lush greenery of the Olympic National Park, this trailhead offers a perfect escape into nature’s serene beauty. From the moment I stepped onto the trail, I felt a deep sense of peace, surrounded by towering trees and the gentle sounds of the forest.

The trail itself is well-maintained and easy to navigate, making it accessible for hikers of all levels. It’s a relatively short hike, but don’t let that fool you—the journey is filled with stunning sights. As you walk, the path takes you through dense old-growth forest, with moss-covered trees and ferns creating a magical atmosphere. The air is crisp, clean, and filled with the earthy scent of the forest, making every breath feel refreshing.

The highlight, of course, is Marymere Falls. As you approach the falls, you can hear the sound of water cascading in the distance, building anticipation. When you finally reach the viewpoint, the sight is breathtaking. The waterfall plunges gracefully down a rock face, surrounded by verdant greenery. It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for taking a moment to relax and soak in the natural beauty.

What I loved most about this trail is how it feels like a hidden gem. Even though it’s a popular destination, the trail never felt overcrowded, allowing for a quiet, personal connection with nature. The hike isn’t strenuous, making it an ideal option for families, casual hikers, or anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful stroll in a stunning setting.

In conclusion, Marymere Falls Trailhead offers a perfect blend of tranquility, natural beauty, and accessibility. Whether you’re an experienced hiker or just looking for a beautiful spot to explore, this trail is a must-visit. It’s a gentle reminder of the incredible beauty that nature has to offer, and a place where you can truly unwind and reconnect with the...

The trail was very well maintained and amazing! It is a trial that keeps giving through and through. The lichen covers trees are fabulous! If you’ve seen or read the twilight saga, this trail looks like the locations where you might meet with Edward Cullen on a serious note though, the trail offers great views along the way and is flat for the most part. The last few steps of the trail have a steep elevation gain as you inch closer to the falls, and the waterfalls are just stunning! There were a few people along the trail but it was not super packed! However I did notice an increase in crowd as time passed. If you want a more secluded experience and avoid large crowds, early in the day would be a good time to do the trail. I think I was there around 8:15-8:30 AM, and it was pretty good. The weather was also pleasant. It drizzled a little in the beginning and stopped, and given the tree cover, I couldn’t feel the drizzle. There are a couple of side trails that lead to more strenuous hikes like the storm king trail, for example. So carefully following the AllTrails directions as well as the trail markings can prevent accidentally moving to a harder trail.

In my opinion, this is an...

Marymere Falls is an absolutely magnificent destination and one of the most enjoyable hikes I’ve done in Washington! As we continued along the trail, the waterfall slowly revealed itself—growing larger and more impressive with every step. By the time we reached the falls, we were genuinely astonished at how tall and powerful it was!

The trail itself is super accessible—about 1.5 miles round trip—and mostly flat and easy, making it perfect for hikers of all experience levels. The path winds through beautiful, lush greenery that feels like something out of a dream. Classic Pacific Northwest vibes!

There are a couple of fallen trees you’ll need to climb over, but nothing too difficult. Once you cross the river, there’s a short climb up a series of steps that brings you right to the base of the waterfall. Totally worth the effort.

I absolutely love all the waterfalls in Washington, but Marymere Falls stands out for its serene beauty and the magical forest that surrounds it. This is a must-see if you’re in the area—perfect for a peaceful nature walk or a fun...
