Don't go here. I dont know what happened, but this time we went dead sea weed everywhere, dead fish washed up smelled bad. The worst part was that there were clumps of crude oil everywhere. This was on July 3 . We had to buy orange soap that mechanics use to remove it from our bodies and scrub . We threw our sandles and clothe away to avoid getting it stained in our van. Clean, soft, fine sand. Shells common to the gulf are plentiful but small in size. Port A does not disappoint. If you plan on parking on the beach, make sure you pick up a parking pass readily available in Port A at convenience stores, IGA... They're a modest $12. for the year. The fine for parking without one is $500. There is plenty to do and see...
