I really like it here! It is clean and peaceful! They have full hookups, with 50amp power, water and sewer connection at every pad site. The water pressure is pretty good (for an RV park), the water pressure is good enough to take a decent shower. The tall dunes help prevent sand from coming into the RV park. The staff is super nice. They are strict with parking, 2 vehicles allowed although I saw one spot with 3 vehicles, so I'm not sure if the office made an exception for them. We were told (by the office) there is a maximum of 8 people per spot. We brought our bbq grill and set it up. The concrete pads are new. The park had a little issue with a few power outages the 2nd day we were here. It may have been due to the extreme heat conditions we had the past few days. It was frustrating as RVs tend to become tin hotboxes. But I saw they installed some plywood to provide shade for the main electrical panels, so hopefully it won't be an issue in the future. So far so good! I see people walking around with their pets. They're remodeling a rec center and beach access so that will be awesome when it's done. It's been a very pleasant experience. Much easier and worth it compared to boondocking on the beach. I did have some issues with calling the office, and so did the other park visitors but leave a message and they will call back. We have a very long RV (see photo), an F350 Truck and another vehicle can still park on our concrete pad. Watch out for stickers in the grass. Another thing worth noting, if they're fully booked, they have a waiting list just in case there are cancelations. I attached a photo with the park rules, but always call for current pricing, as that may change depending on the season. They didn't charge us for any excess electrical or water usage. They don't allow you to wash your vehicles here. They have a dump site here also (for a fee) in case you cannot reserve a pad site, you can at least pay to dump and fill water. I'll try to add a photo of it. I didn't see any showers or laundry room but maybe that will be available when the rec center is completed. There are free showers on the...
Read moreNowhere on IB Magee’s website does it state that you cannot have tents alongside your RV!! Interesting since this used to be a tent campsite. We brought our large RV and was planning on having the kids stay in tents on the concrete patio on the side of our RV (one for the boys and one for the girls). Instead of addressing the issue in a polite empathetic way, Donna was completely rude! I came back from the beach in the afternoon and was approached by another couple who was camping. They asked me about my tents to see if they were allowed and I said I think so. They told me a maintenance guy came by their site and told them tents were not allowed. They said they were headed to the office to inquire about it and that they would stop by and tell me the results of the conversation. They came back and said that tents were allowed but not on the grass, only the concrete so vegetation is not harmed. I thought everything was okay since mine were on the concrete. I then got a call from Donna who completely denied that tents were allowed in anyway. I told her that this is listed nowhere on their website and their Facebook page as of 5/28/21. I told her that we would have stayed somewhere else had we known this. She justified the no tent policy by saying they do not have the facilities to accommodate tent camping. However, our RV provided all the facilities we needed. I understand not allowing tent only camping but what is the harm if the tents are on the concrete? Completely ridiculous! I then discovered the office (Donna) left a passive aggressive voicemail earlier reprimanding me for my tents while ending it with the ole “have a blessed day”. Well Karen, I mean Donna, we didn’t have a blessed day because you failed to set the expectations on your website about prohibiting tent camping which at a campsite is a huge oversight! Plus, their office was located in a flooded lot and you had to wade through six inch water to get there. Maybe that is why they...
Read moreWe camped here for 5 nights ending New Year’s Day. We loved our stay-this park had just what we needed and more. Even though they are still repairing the beach house, the road is new and camping slabs are new and spacious. The slabs were very long beyond our 60 feet, we could easily have fit 1-2 more vehicles. Great patio area. Our kids enjoyed rollerblading on the asphalt road. Full hookup-FYI all connections are at the back of the site so we had to use an extension for our sewer pipe because our sewer drain is toward the front of our camper. WiFi was spotty.
We enjoyed seeing the ships going in/out of port over the dunes to the northwest-also loved seeing them close up from the jetty! Just a short walk and we were on the beach, and 3 more minutes to the jetty. Lots of good shells in the mornings-loved seeing the living starfish (after storms/windy weather) and crabs in shells.
Great location close to town-we could walk to dinner at least one night and it only took about 15-25 min depending on where we went.
So glad we didn’t book a spot at a pricier campground-no need for pool when you have the ocean and didn’t have to worry about being packed in with so many other people, especially during COVID! Prices are down from normal because amenities are not completely back after rebuilding from hurricane(s) so only $37 per night instead of $50. Highly...
