Another Chance Reconditioned Appliance — Attraction in Portage

I purchased a washer about 2 weeks ago due to mine having an electrical issue that I couldn't figure out. It was cheaper for me to just shop around for something else. I stopped in this shop and got a good deal on a newer/used Maytag top loader washer machine. I took it home the day of purchase and everything went smoothly. The washer was installed at my home a few days later and I heard a loud noise/roaring during the spin cycle, which to me didn't sound normal. I let Chris (the shop owner) know and he immediately was upfront and honest with me indicating it was probably the bearings in the washer starting to fail. No questions asked, he instantly offered me to get a new washer of my choice. He even offered to deliver and install whatever I chose. He was detailed and patient with me as I picked out something else and gave me no hassle. I returned the original washer and got another Maytag model that was even an upgrade from the previous one. Chris didn't charge me any differences and was really accommodating for my inconveniences. Initially, I was impressed with the owner's sincerity and willingness to help me find a washer suitable for my parents. I purchased from Kris last July for my parents who live in Lansing, IL. At the time I was hesitant but reassured in my purchase when I was told if there were any complications Kris could take a look at the appliance for $75.00. This was part of the reason I purchased.

Unfortunately the washer has stopped working properly a couple of months ago. When I called for support I was told Kris no longer had a license renewed to do work in IL. While I understand individuals have a right to work where they choose it's not good honest business to accept someones purchase base on an agreement and you don't hold your end of the deal. So I spent over $1,000 on an appliance not working that I am unable to get assistance with. When I asked for a reference for someone who could look at the washer the girl told me she would look into it. I never received a call back. The other issue is that the serial number is scratched off so calling someone to look at it they have no reference. Hardworking, Disappointed...

Just the best all around!!! A rare FIND!!!

Let me start by saying, don't look any further! When my nephew needed appliances; Kris was more than fair with his prices. He deliver the appliances and installed them in a very professional mannerl!

Did I mentioned his kindness! My mom's dryer(purchased from Menards several years ago) stopped working on a Saturday, I went to his store looking for him. To see if he would be able to help. Without hesitation, he said, " how is 5:00 PM" True to his word, he was there the same day and on time. He fixed the dryer within 20 minutes. When my mom tried to pay him, he would not accept her money( my mom is elderly) my family and i are so grateful to him.

I am so happy we found his store. I will from now on always shop at his store.
