In the early 1990's, before I bought a house in Merrillville, I lived at Park Place Apts., which butted up against Woodland Park. 1st of all, if you like an almost "deep woods" atmosphere, Woodland Park is the place to go! When I lived at Park Place, the kids(now adults, with their own kids!) and my best friend & her kids, would get all bundled up in snowsuit & walk over to Woodland Park. They have an awesome snow sledding hill!! Then, when we got pooped, we'd walk but to my apt. get out of our wet clothes, rest & make hot cocoa, & watch funny movies!! Woodland Park, did all that to help build wonderful memories!! Now it's 2019!! I'm back in Portage. Married w/Grandchildren! Guess where I take them? Yep! More Woodland Park memory building activities for the next generation!! AWESOME!! So are the car shows & music bands!! THANKYOU TO ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR A WONDERFUL PLACE TO GO WITH THE WHOLE FAMILY!!(& I didn't even talk about the INDOOR activities...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff are the most inconsiderate people. There was a misunderstanding with the times for my sister babyshower (two days away) and they told her to change the event time. Her babyshower is scheduled for 5 and we can't get in until 5. It was believed that we would be able to come in early to decorate š The women were so rude. My Aunt even offered to help maintenance clean from the previous party, lol. Even if there is absolutely nothing she can do, she still could still have shown some type of compassion. She said so many rude things to my sister it's ridiculous. My sister asked her for corporate number and she said, she is corporate. Yeah, ok, everyone has a boss, unless you own this park, somebody signs your check. Also, we have the smallest hall so clean up will take 45min at the most. I pray my sister's shower isn't ruined. If anyone knows a number I can call to let them know how rude their employees are please...

We stood in the line for almost 2hrs and then once we got on the hayride we was cramped together , nobody really had space neither the older people that got on there . Then going thru the hayride we didn't really stop at all. The only part we stopped on was the clowns and the rest we just blew thru. Then one of the scare zone area the people was packing up and literally just waved at us. It was a lot of places and opportunities for scare actors but we blew pass everybody. Totally...
