My sister got a Groupon for a cider tasting with charcuterie board and invited me to come.
The place is a cool spot, nice decor and atmosphere. There was live music playing and plenty of seating.
We were given the choice of having 2 hard cider flights (6 flavors each) or 1 hard cider and 1 cider wine. We chose one of each. In my opinion since there are two people tasting there should have been 2 of each flavor for us to try but there wasn’t. Since we both wanted to try every flavor we had to share each shot which was lame.
The cider wine had a tiny amount in each cup because of its higher alcohol content which is also lame because there was barely enough for us each to have a decent taste of it. The cups were also unevenly filled 🙄
As far as the smell and flavor…. Not gona lie one of them (the first one we tried) legit smelled like dirty socks! It tasted okay but the smell was off putting. One of the wine ciders also smelled like a dirty diaper! It was crazy how it actually smelled just like that in a weird way which was gross but the flavor itself wasn’t half bad. There was a cranberry wine cider I tried that I think was tied as my favorite with another one that had a prickly pear flavor. I ended up buying a growler of the prickly pear to take home.
The charcuterie board was a nice touch and had enough stuff for us to share for the amount of tastings we had. The only down side was that the meat offered on it was a pork product and I don’t eat pork so I didn’t have any. My sister does eat it so she had it. I think they should ask you if you eat pork and should have an option of something beef based if you don’t and maybe even something as an option if you don’t eat any meat.
We also ordered a pretzel dish (it was not included in the Groupon) and it had 3 dipping sauces but we both really only liked the cheese one. The other 2 were mustard ones which weren’t bad but they just weren’t as good as the cheese.
While eating some guy from a table near us offered us some cake pops/bites that I think he brought with him ( I don’t think they were purchased there) he had a group of people with him and he said they were going to just throw them out anyway so we took 2 each along with a chocolate covered cookie. Just mentioning that here so you know in the pics that stuff didn’t come with our order.
There are signs in a few places saying absolutely no outside beverages of any kind allowed including water (super lame) but I guess they do allow food from other places since it seemed a few people had food with them that they obviously didn’t buy there.
The way the Groupon is sold is as if they expect that the 2 people live together since they give one free growler full of the cider of your choice, but how do you share that if you don’t live together? So since my sister bought the Groupon obviously she got to keep it and I bought one for myself to take home.
We also each got a glass of the cider we liked the most (my sister got a maple flavored one and she got practically a full glass. I got the cranberry cider wine and my glass was like a 1/3 full since it had a higher alcohol content….something to keep in mind)
We were able to keep our glasses as well but again, unless you live together, who wants just one glass? I like pairs and symmetry and having just one glass was kinda lame.
If I was to buy this Groupon and go with someone, I would probably buy 2 so we each get to taste all the flavors and get 2 glasses of our favorite and get to keep 2 glasses and each get a growler of our favorite...
Read moreI am so disappointed to have to write a poor review, especially since my now husband and I were such big fans of this winery before we tried to host our wedding Welcome Party here. The communication was horrendous leading up to the event. To start, we worked with the event coordinator to schedule a tasting to select wines for our event. When we went to our scheduled tasting time, no one at the winery knew we were supposed to be there and the whole thing seemed disorganized. Fast forward to the actual event, the staff was completely unaware there was even an event happening. I was told by both the event coordinator and the person conducting our wine tasting that we would have a bar and a designated server down in the rented area. When we arrived, there was nothing set up, the wine we selected was not laid out anywhere for people to choose from, and no one was there to take people's orders. It wasn't until I went up to the bar and said something the staff finally came down, but that was about 50 minutes into our 3 hour event. I must give the day of staff credit though because once they knew there was an event there, they were great, however it was completely unfair for them not to know there would be 60 people there for an event.
The week of the event, I was also trying to get a hold of the event coordinator to ask about moving the event inside since the weather was supposed to be bad. I was not able to get a hold of her or get an answer from her. I was very disappointed as well as there was supposed to be live music, but this was moved inside due to the weather and no one informed us. If we knew ahead of time, we would have arranged for a speaker or something outside. It really was an embarrassing way to welcome our friends and family to town for our wedding and I am incredibly disappointed that I spent $650 on this event, but Arrigoni provided no services beyond what would have been done if we had simply shown up without any reservation. To make matters worse, we reached out numerous times after to speak to them and still have not heard back. It's...
Read moreIf i could give this less than 1 star I would. I was excited to go there this past Friday as I was finally getting to celebrate a birthday with many of my friends some of whom traveled a far distance to be there. The evening started with an umbrella hitting me in the face after a strong breeze uprooted the table umbrella. A worker arrived at our table not to check that i was ok but instead to scold us because unbeknownst to us personal water bottles are a no no and we each had one. If it wasnt enough to be scolded once a new worker by the name of tina charged our table very rudely and began reprimanding us of all the things not allowed. She never once asked if i was OK or even said hi to us. She had a scowl on her face and was so impolite. As more guests showed up she continued to remain close by and anytime someone sat down she ran over and scolded thst if she didn't like something. At this point we had already ordered many bottles of wine and slushies we were so uncomfortable but didn't want to leave as we had just all arrived. However, once my husband arrived again with a water bottle apparently tina just couldn't hold herself back and asked him to leave. When he asked what he did wrong she yelled at him for having a water bottle he had no idea was not allowed as he had just arrived. We finished out wine closed our tab which was very large after a half hour and would have surely been bigger. Unfortunately we will not be back again and neither will our friends. It's sad that tina does not know how to interact nicely with...
