Winchester Cafe — Restaurant in Portland

Wasn't sure what to expect so we ordered take-out. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of our take out meal of wings and quesidillas. Wings were juicy and smokey, quesadilla was perfectly grilled with just the right ratio of cheese to chicken! NOM! the following night we decided to eat in. Hubby ordered the salad with honey mustard dressing. Nothing fancy. Ordered chicken quesadillas and I order the Winchester burger. Sp good, my burgerwas cooked to a little pink perfection. Melty cheese, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions. My fries are thicker than normal but ridiculously crispy. Desserts consisted of crazy cakes that were sp most, cool and delicious. 10410 ten 4 ten we highly recommend. Waitresses were super friendly, attentive and helpful. Helped us in choosing our dessert. It's a nice little out of the way place. We usually go for drinks but we actually ordered food this time. We probably will stick to the drinks in the future as most of the food we ordered was terribly overcooked. My Vodka with cranberry juice was mostly cranberry juice this time around though. The buffalo wings are not really buffalo wings, instead they are coated in a sweet chili sauce which I actually liked. The wings themselves though were overly fried and salty. My BFF got the jalapeno poppers which she liked flavor wise but said were also overcooked. This is a great place! We come here all the time, perfect for us for an early dinner or lunch spot. My son loves the atmosphere, there's always something to look at. We love the staff, it's a small town family business pub/bar. The menu has a variety for everyone and we've tried so many items in all the times we've been. This time we did an order of the potato skins and we all did sandwiches/burgers. Everything is delicious, prices are more reasonable that anywhere else. My brother who doesn't even live in town comes here more often than we do for the bar scene, live music, he loves the Halloween costume party. Great place to check out, and one of our favorite...
