I had called in an order for pick-up to my FAVORITE breakfast place on the planet... ITs a COLD WINTRY MORNING...BUT MY SONS 27TH BIRTHDAY...SOOOOO SPECIAL BREAKFAST IT IS...FROM EGGS UP GRILL in PORTLAND CT. I gave my large order at 9:55 am..the VERY pleasant woman who answered the phone happily took my order and told me " come on over in 20 minutes Sweetie " ... mmmmmm my mouth was watering...the order consisted of 5 different full breakfast orders , multiple sides and ( in my opinion) MY very important GLUTEN FREE CHOICES. I have Celiac disease and I RARELY order out because my allergy is VERY severe...even a puff of regular flour and Im breaking out in a rash and having difficulty breathing! So anyway...my order placed i get up out of my cozy spot...look out the window and see ...A RAGING BLIZZARD!! I ONLY LIVE ABOUT A MILE AND A HALF AWAY...BUT I COULDN'T EVEN SEE THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY! OH WELL....NOTHING WAS GOING TO STOP ME FROM GETTING TO EGGS UP 🥚 ..YES IT WAS MY SON'S BIRTHDAY...AND IT IS THE VERY BEST ...GENEROUS PORTIONS ...PERFECTLY COOKED AND MOST DELICIOUS FOOD FOR AN AWESOME PRICE....YOU HAVE . TO. TRY. THIS. PLACE! I DON'T TRUST ANYONE ELSE TO GET OUR ORDERS DONE RIGHT EVERY. TIME. AND TO NEVER CROSS CONTAMINATE WITH THE GLUTEN FREE AND REGULAR COOKING. .THIS IS SOOOOO IMPORTANT! AND DID I MENTION THE FOOD....EVERYTHING THEY HAVE IS SO SO YUMMY?!! PROPS TO THIS RESTAURANT...AND WHEN I SHOWED UP TO PICK UP MY LARGE ORDER AT THE PEAK BUSY TIME...AT THE SNOW FILLED PICKUP WINDOW...THE WOMAN OPENED IT WITH A SMILE AND SAID...." THANK YOU FOR YOUR ORDERS...HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!" ....ALL SAID BEFORE I OPENED MY MOUTH TO SAY ALMOST THE SAME! ( I DID SAY IT 😇) GOT IT HOME AND EVERYTHING WAS PIPING HOT AND EXACTLY AS WE ORDERED!! I KNOOOOOWWW THIS WAS long winded review....but SERIOUSLY...YOU MUST...

A SHOUT OUT......to Egg's Up in Portland!!! Yesterday, we had to put our Beloved Baxter down, his appt was at 9:30am. His ABSOLUTE Favorite thing in the world is MacDonald's Double Cheeeeeseburgers. He got one every year for 9 yrs with candles. I went to MacDonalds on Washington and explained that I know its "Breakfast" but could they make Baxter one more, double cheeeeseburger, before he crosses? They Refused, telling me it was breakfast time!!! I explained through tears and they again refused. I called Egg's Up, while driving and explained the situation and that I know its breakfast, but could they help me. Without hesitation, they took my order, just one double cheeeeseburger. I arrived a few minutes later ...they completed my order, cut his burger into quarters for him, gave me their condolences and didn't charge me!!!! I know this may seem trivial to some, but to me, in that moment, it meant the world to me, to be able to give him, this last piece of my love. Thank you to the staff at Egg's Up for your compassion and warmth, during one of the worst days of my life. I know it meant a lot to him, based on how quickly he Devoured it, lol! And I will Never forget your Graciousness and...

Remember that one family member or friend that cooked a perfect breakfast and no matter how hard you tried you could never make one that compared? Eggs Up Grill makes that breakfast, for about $15 or less not only do you get a meal for two, but it's a meal you won't forget anytime soon. I now order from here at least 3 times a week because they are quick (15 minutes or less), very affordable and it is by far the best food and service in this area/all the surrounding areas. I have never walked into this restaurant and not been welcomed with a smile and very professional, (family like) people. With how amazing the food, service and atmosphere is, I can't believe how affordable everything is. Take it from me (a VERY picky eater) you must try their food once and I promise you it will truly change your breakfast routine...

Eggs Up continues to be the best breakfast place in town. The food is always excellent and they have a great variety on their menu along with good specials. The only downside is that it is a very small restaurant and seating is very limited. During peak times there will usually not be a table free and you may have to wait a while until there is one available. If the crowd waiting is outside the door, you may be better off just finding somewhere else to go unfortunately.

I've passed by this place a hundred times while working on the road. Im always in a rush, never had a chance to stop. Last week, I finally got a chance. I ordered takeout corned beef hash. The server gave me free cup of coffee while I was waiting for my food. They got me in and out of there in under ten minutes even though the place was full. Hash with eggs and toast for under ten bucks, it's a big W on my book these days. I will definitely return.
