Today as I passed through this area early morning ; I could hear her voice again excitedly exclaiming what a trail to explore ,right here in our city.Although she's been gone since late summer 2007, Her effort had not been wasted : I took my Granddaughter with me... Read moreBeautiful trail with a varied environment. Somewhat wet, but we've had a lot of rain recently. There are wooden bridges over the wettest areas of the trail.
The trail is a part of a connected network of trails that totals about 5 miles. Walking all of the trails would take a while, but you can plan your route at the map near the trailhead.
There was a lot of good shade along the route and lots of unspoiled nature. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Portland without having to leave town.
Be careful getting to the trail head from the parking across the street. It's a busy road and folks are driving fast. More of a concern if you have kids or a dog with you.
The trail is not handicap accessible at all, with a high curb and uneven, narrow areas and places where you need to step up/down, so it's not a good fit if you have...
Read moreNice lil hike in portland area. It’s an easy one to do. Great for beginners, walking or biking. The falls in the middle are a great attraction and nice lil surprise for kids. It can be a relaxing hike. Just the falls and back takes about an hour or less. There’s some flaura and fauna to explore. Also you can find mushrooms, squirrels and chipmunks. There’s also some benches to sit and catch a breather. Downside is that no restroom nearby and also there’s quite a few bugs so get a bugspray. Enjoy...
