Archer Park — Attraction in Prestonsburg

Having lived in this area for several years in the past and still in the area frequently, I've watched this park not only be a great park, but improve over those years.

There are 2 separate playground areas for kids, 7 tennis courts with lights, indoor basketball, soccer, baseball, swimming and a banquet/meeting space.

There are several swings for all types and sizes of children. There are also several handicap accessible ones.

The pool is seasonal and has a kid pool, large pool with 2 diving boards and 2 slides. There is a third pool...

The site of the City's New Year's Eve Celebration! A fantastic, beautiful and very accessible (including handicap accessible) park with PLENTY to see and do! You can spend all day there, there are trails, kids area and more, and where everyone gets together to see a SPECTACULAR firework show on New Year's Eve & Fourth of July (they use more fireworks than bigger city Louisville). The Christmas lights in this park are some of the best in the state.

The park offers a lot, from swimming pools in the summertime, a skating rink, playgrounds, tennis courts, /pickleball courts, soccer fields, outdoor basketball, and parking access to the Prestonsburg passage trail.

That said, Prestonsburg needs a skatepark, (a real skatepark ), and this would be a great place for it. It seems odd for a park of this size to not at least have a pump track, or something for the kids. The park feels incomplete...
