East Kentucky Science Center & Varia Planetarium — Attraction in Prestonsburg

Absolutely wonderful, adult enjoyment and I had 3 and 4 year old with me. They were amazed by the solar system show , the adults so much enjoy the laser light show as did the kids . Staff helpful and knowledgeable along with being pleasant people to be around and they didn't mind helping. Actually you can have children birthday 🎉 party at the location. But, also there is so much to for the kids in front foyer , had some love animals. Turtles, iguana and a couple of others . I replication of a hurricane where you stand inside and wow when winds reach into 70's you can really feel it. There is also a location the kids can dig for dinosaur and see relics of them, along with a actual meteorite on display. there is a Lego area for kids and several other activities. They explained that they do special laser light show for other holiday For example this upcoming Tuesday there will be special shows to watch in celebrate of valentine's day. I just cannot say enough good things about my experience there. But, also I want to add that the restrooms were also clean...

We absolutely adore this place! We’ve had two birthday parties there for our oldest kiddo. She’s always had a blast! And so have all the other kids. One or two of the adults hang around the exhibit area watching the kids while they ran around playing with giant legos and other STEM toys. Then there’s the laser shows! Some educational, some purely fun, all absolutely STUNNING!

We would be scheduling another party soon, but they’re closed for remodeling. I’m kinda bummed out about that, but it’s also a guarantee that they’ll be around for...

Very quiet, friendly staff and a great experience. They provide activities between shows in the planetarium. We watched a show about Black Holes and a Light Show and we really enjoyed both! They change shows every two weeks and we plan to make another visit at some point. Great opportunity for...
