Stopped in with a coworker while passing through Pueblo to try Arriba Grill south for the 1st time during the lunch hour and was disappointed with the food quality, temperature, and speed of preparing for a to go order. There were 2 other to go orders in front of ours and no drive through orders while orders were being prepared.
I saw as many as 4 employees but seemingly only 2 were actually working.
The food prepares did not have Carne Asasa or Barbacoa ready to assemble the order and had to get undersized portions from their refrigerator and prepare them out of view and then bring re-fired of protiens to the service line to be assembled with condiments to order. Very slow process...
The service line of warmed rice and beams were dry and crusty, overall not visually appealing (if you eat with your eyes that is)... They use small portions of green leafy lettuce which is fine but not iceberg lettuce if that's a preference. I guess that's the owner choice or whatever may be available at the time service. The salsas were OK at best.
Remember, this is during the 12 O'clock lunch hour.
We ordered 2 different meat burritos. The portions were meager for the price, the burritos were warm (but not hot) at best, and flavor was lacking in all food products selected for each burrito.
If you're expecting authentic texture and taste Arriba is not the restaurant for you.
Almost 20 dollars spent for 2 burritos, a cup of water and tip for food that was OK at best.
Sadly, I won't be back though Shelly is as sweet...
Read moreI ordered chicken tacos on a white. The chicken tasted fishy and smelled like ammonia. It’s pretty clear that some sort of ammonia based cleaner was left over in a bucket or pot they prepped the chicken with. We brought the tacos back to try and get it sorted out. One thing worth noting is that the restaurant smells like a swimming pool. I appreciate a clean business, and especially a restaurant, but they seem a little heavy handed with the cleaning supply’s and it seemed to leach into the food. The person working there insisted that there was nothing wrong with the order. Over the phone, At first there was talk of an in-store credit (like we were in some sort of retail store). But that wasn’t offered when we brought the order back. The woman made me out to be a liar, as if I’d make it up and drive my order back to the restaurant. I wouldn’t want an in-store credit anyways. We’re never going back again. The place really went down hill after the old couple who owned it moved on. I’d give less stars if that were an option. Here’s to hoping we...
Read moreFor 3 chicken tacos and cold/dry rice and beans was $17and some change. I was not impressed at all there are much better places in Pueblo to get Mexican food with better prices. The tacos were leaking grease because they cook the shell over the chicken (minimal chicken btw) then topped it with salad instead of just regular lettuce...all of the food is out in the elements and not labeled or covered and the lady seemed annoyed I was asking what's what (p.s. all three salsas are the exact same..I got all 3 and no difference in them) also there is a sleeper couch being used as a dining room booth which was grossing me out thinking about it's history and how it came to be part of this restaurants decor. Mr montez arribas was the truth and this place is destroying it's legacy by piggybacking with this sorry excuse for Mexican food. I regret being hungry enough to stop and eat here...not worth the hassle of trying to park or...
