We heard that the beaches on the other side of the island were covered in seaweed, so we decided to walk to Bastimento to check it out. The walk is about 30 minutes from town. Walking allowed us to see more of Vieques, but the beach wasn't worth it. It was dirty and full of trash. Rocky and impossible to swim in with coarse sand. The tide pool is probably 3 feet deep at the deepest point and is super calm. Two young families played in the entire time we sat on the beach and watched the waves.
