At The Waves — Hotel in Isla de Vieques

When I need to heal, this is where I go. I rent one of the front villas on the Atlantic Ocean all 3 times that I've been here. I was fortunate to find this place 10 years ago. You can tell how nice it is by its repeat business. Under new management, it is still the best! Everything is so clean and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate as is the pool. Right in front of you is the Atlantic - not good for swimming but dynamic and a great walk. The Caribbean is a 20 minute drive to the other side of the island where beautiful beaches are for your choosing. The villas had 2 BR with 2BA and a comfortable living room. The kitchen has everything you need except an oven - there is a toaster oven, microwave, stovetop and full sized fridge with dishwasher. Ceiling fans and A/C (which we never used). The waves and the winds put you to sleep at night. They have beach gear to use & washer/dryer. Do rent a vehicle to truly enjoy this island. This trip I brought my old flame who was in dire need of a sunny beach. She left with a big big smile on her face. I highly recommend...

I'm a little late in getting this posted, but I made a third visit to this incredible property October 2017. I don't know what more I can add over my first two reviews. The amazing views from this property never get old, the accommodations are clean, nice and comfortable, the owners have worked hard to make sure you have everything you could want or need for your stay. I loved that when I returned this trip, October 2016, the same couple I had met when I stayed here in October 2015 had returned as well (their 7th annual stay!). I think that says all you need to know about this property, in that once you come, you'll love it so much you'll want to return again and again. Vieques, in general, is a place to go if you love privacy and have a sense of adventure, and there is no better place to stay on your visit than...

On the ocean but not a good location because you can't walk to town. It's a lot farther than it looks. Our unit was musty and some stuff didn't work. Fridge was covered with rust. I know this is a rustic island but come on! Called owner and she was responsive to our concerns but nothing could be done. I gave 3 stars because he refunded our money promptly. We booked another place but that cost us much time and aggravation. We ended up leaving and stayed at Casa de Tortuga in Esperanza near the Malecon....
