One of the few places I’ve been in recent history where everything was better than expected. This place is an affordable gem and the only regret I have is not finding this place sooner. The staff from the very beginning was very welcoming and had a smile (rare find these days). The employees were pretty much all young looking but very professional and I didn’t see any of them distracted by or even in possession of their cell phones. I felt completely comfortable with my nieces (after observing the environment) chill for a bit in the pool by themselves and just play like kids once upon a time were able to do (of course I kept an eye on them at a distance still). Not only was the staff professional but the patrons were very nice and family friendly. I did go on a Monday so it was a chill day. The pool wasn’t too busy but had a nice amount of ppl there. I can tell weekends must be hectic. After 4 hours I was ready to go just because I was tired but my nieces (8 & 10) were having so much fun playing Marco Polo with other kids that we stayed until the closing at 6pm. Everything was clean. The snack bar was closed (not sure why, maybe b/c it was a slow day), but I didn’t mind because I brought my own stuff. Upon entering I asked about the no leaving policy that I read about on many reviews and the lady at the counter told me they do enforce that on busier days because when there is a long line of ppl to get in and others just bypass them for re-entry it can often cause a commotion. Her explanation was fair enough but due to no line and it not being hectic she told me I could leave if needed and return with no issue. Perhaps based on other reviews they just need to come up with a re-entry policy/system (wristbands?), but I def didn’t get the vibe that they are trying to make ppl repay if they just need to go to the car if they forgot something of importance. Like everything else in life.. just talk to a staff member at the entrance if you need to leave the pool area. Upon entering there also was a police officer there. While I am not a fan of over policing.. this left me feeling better knowing that kids have many lifeguards and emergency services available at a moments notice. Anyway, I’m done rambling, but this was a very enjoyable and peaceful day and I can’t thank the staff here enough. Keep up the great work! Btw.. the pool “area” that surrounds the pool closes at 6pm, but the actual pool itself and bathrooms (facilities) close at 5:30pm. Think about it.. if ppl got out of the pool at 6pm they’d have no time to grab their things or get dressed before being locked out. I saw some negative reviews here by ppl who don’t seem to think about what closing a place entails and like to show up at the tail end of the day before closing then complain about the policy being enforced. The way I understand it is last entry to the pool will be 75 minutes prior to the actual pool closing at 5:30pm, not the same as the 6pm pool “area” closing. There’s no point in showing up at 4:15 pm for a pool that will be closed at 5:30pm and then leaving negative reviews. Save your money for another day and make everyone’s life more peaceful. Btw I would post pics but when at a pool I limit those as I find it rude to post pics of strangers who are basically in their undergarments and typically not “picture ready”. I’d be devastated if I saw a pic of me on here posted by a stranger.. just sayin’ . Be considerate before you post pics from a...
Read moreJuly 24th, 2015 around 12pm me and my friend arrived at Rahway pool. We were approached by a young African American girl around 5ft 3in tall, long wavy black hair, and a little chubby. She was very rude and disrespectful and had a bad attitude. She asked us for our ID's and we asked why and she gave us the biggest attitude about the IDs and bad face impressions. Then she proceeded to tell us we are not allowed to leave the pool or we will have to pay again to get in even if we are going to our car. My friend put her stuff down to ask our other friend a question that was waiting in the car and the young lady worker said with an attitude "your not allowed to leave your stuff there" when the stuff were off out of the way from disturbing anyone. We decided to leave because we were just going to the pool to relax and coming into contact with that young disrespectful worker made us not ever want to go to Rahway Pool again. Rahway pool needs better employees without attitudes and know how to be respectful and know...
