R&J Pizzeria — Restaurant in Rahway

Finally, someone has rented out this corner pizzeria that has been empty for a long time. R&J pizzeria Just opened in late February. Today I went in to see how their standard slice is and also tried a pepperoni slice. The inside is clean and inviting with plenty of tables and chairs to dine in. Because of this you don’t feel like it is only a takeout spot. They offer plenty of sandwiches and dishes and soups and salads, but I base pizzerias on there, golden standard cheese, slays and go from there. Their plain slice had a nice undercarriage to it and had a flavorful bite. It was a tad salty and I’m not sure if that’s coming from the cheese or the sauce, however, I did not mind the little bit extra salt. thin crust with a good sauce to cheese ratio. The cheese did slowly build up a little bit of grease, however the slice was still tasty. The pepperoni slice had a little kick to it. And plenty of pepperoni on that slice. If you’re the type of person who likes to add pepper, flake for a little heat, the pepperoni does that for you without adding any pepper flake. I will say there was plenty of grease on this slice, but that is due to the amount of pepperoni they put on the slice. Very disappointed! Do not recommend the entree’s…did not try their pizza. Stuffed mushrooms were swimming in a brown sauce and menu says 5 pcs, we only got 4 pcs. Never got stuffed mushrooms in a brown sauce. My husbands meatball sandwich was like eating a hamburger on Italian bread. No flavor and not even shaped into meatballs. Eggplant had no color to it (such as being fried or baked) I think it was frozen breaded eggplant. Customer service was good but not impressed with the food. So I got a chicken parm,the chicken was cooked and seasoned well,enough cheese and sauce BUT the ends of the bread were BURNT. I also ordered onion rings as I am a huge fan of them. But never ever will I order them from here, not only were they greasy,some were cooked so much that the onions were brittle and the breading was falling off.
