ā€¼ļøPLEASE READ BEFORE LEASINGā€¼ļø Apt 1801-M first floor is full of mold and leakes I moved in this apartment in July of 2024 the A/C was not working I was told temperatures weren’t hot enough for it be considered an emergency we live in NC there’s never a day in late July where temps aren’t hot enough for emergency A/C repairs, it took them 2 weeks to fix the a/c. While dealing with that I was told upon picking up the keys that the glass on the oven door was broken by the cleaning lady it took 3 weeks to get a new glass for the oven door the stove was also missing 2 of the 4 stove top eyes. On Labor Day weekend 2024 we were under a hurricane warning and it was raining heavily I noticed my patio door was leaking at the top I reported the leak via the emergency line and did not receive a response from anyone after a few days of rain the actual ceiling started leaking I reached out to maintenance again after multiple attempts someone finally came out they said it was the gutters and nothing could be done to stop the leaking until the gutters got cleaned which took another 1-2 weeks for someone to come out for that. After all the heavy rain and flooding within the apartment I started smelling a strong mold odor so assuming because of all the recent leakes and a/c being out I assumed it was the area where leakes were occurring that caused mold but I was wrong after becoming violently sick and having multiple allergic reactions ultimately causing me to become hospitalized (during all of this I was in my first trimester of pregnancy) after multiple trips to the hospital I was told it was mold poisoning. I reached out to the property management and didn’t get a response for a week so I called their corporate office and was given contact information for Vail Barnes she then sent Carolina restoration out to check for mold they never check the whole apartment they only checked the area that has been leaking. After they checked the ceiling they said no mold was found. For a month I became so sick to the point where I lost my baby . I was then advised by my doctor to check underneath every area where water comes from. I went home a did a thorough inspection of the water heater and underneath all sinks thats when I found the mold underneath the kitchen sink. The mold had clearly been there for months. I emailed Vail Barnes letting her know there’s still mold in the apartment Carolina restoration came back and confirmed there was mold under the kitchen sink after it was confirmed they removed the cabinets that had mold in it but didn’t not instruct me to leave the apartment for a certain amount of time they also did not treat the air after removing mold spores they kept the same air filter in and didn’t provide any type of humidifier to clean the air of the spores… meanwhile there’s a new leak starting in the bathroom. I reported the leak in October and was told the lady upstairs poured water on the floor which was obviously a lie maintenance left and never addressed the issue after months of complaining of my bathroom floor being soaked every morning when I wake up they did nothing and a huge water bubble formed in the ceiling they then sent Carolina restoration back over to dry the ceiling and patch the hole they never fixed the actual plumbing issue water was still leaking from the bathroom ceiling vent. 5 months later the leak has become worse and has now started leaking between the walls. Every time I call the emergency number they don’t answer nor do they respond to calls. Thru all of this the only accommodation they tried to make was moving me out of the apartment to another unit only if I paid for the current apartment rent a new prorated rent and security deposit for the new unit and they wanted me to pay another application fee. Please DO NOT MOVE HERE this place needs to be shut down immediately I’m not the only one that has dealt with this if you look at their reviews all you see is leaking ceilings and pest these apartments aren’t even safe to house homeless people RUNNNNN FAR AND FAST AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

When I first moved into my apartment, the bathroom ceiling had a slow leak. I notified the leasing office of the issue, and they immediately informed maintenance so it could be fixed. When maintenance came to fix the leak, it only lasted a little while before leaking again, and each time the leaks got worse. After several attempts of maintenance fixing the issue, I realized this apartment had water damage, and the ceiling leaking was an issue way before I moved in. I didn’t notice until after I moved in because the apartment barely has lighting due to it not being upgraded. When you examine the ceilings closely, you can see water damage in the living room that’s been painted over, and the same for the bathroom. The water damage in the bathroom was more noticeable after a while because of the ceiling constantly leaking. The ceiling leaks cause pests to enter the apartment, starting in the bathroom, then the bedroom, and other areas. One night, a spider was crawling in bed with me and my 8-month-old, and I was concerned about the possibility of her picking up a roach or eating it because at this stage, babies are crawling around putting objects in their mouths. I notified the leasing office of my concerns in a formal written letter, notifying the leasing staff that by NC law, this apartment is uninhabitable, and I requested to be moved into a better apartment or I would break my lease without penalty. After a month, I was finally placed into another apartment that was better. My only complaint about the new apartment is one time I put in a request for pest control, I could see the guy knock on my door from my ring camera, but he then received a phone call and left and never came back to spray. I normally don’t have any issues when I put in a request for pest control, so I’m not sure what the issue was that day. The walkway leading up to the apartment has loads of spider webs and other insects, which makes me think there’s not enough care and intention put into the cleanliness and upkeep of these apartments. I don’t recommend these apartments because of all I have experienced. I have stayed in older apartments before, but they were very clean, didn’t have constant pests or water damage/leaks. Anyone living here, I think, deserves better and can find a better place to live. Also there was a shooting not long ago so I don’t feel safe here. No disrespect to the leading staff, you do work hard and help as much as you can I just wish the owner of the company invested more into the property. The people that pay rent and work hard deserve a safer, cleaner, updated apartment.

TLDR: Terrible management, complete lack of communication, terrible amenities, WAY overpriced, generally a dangerous neighborhood. Front desk hardly answers the phone and give no option to leave a voicemail. The properties look old and trashy, on the inside and outside. We have had several issues since moving in that took multiple emails and requests to address. Our AC wasnt working for weeks, we put in multiple maintenance requests, and they kept blowing us off and said the AC was working. It was clearly not working and all they had to do was look at the AC unit to confirm. In fact, when they sent a contractor to replace the AC, the contractor let me know the AC unit wasn't installed properly to begin with. Maintenance entered my apartment without notifying beforehand and shut my water off all day. Again, all without communicating this to us. Which is obviously illegal. I have a dog in my apartment and NEED to know before someone enters my apartment, so I can make sure she's somewhere safe. Luckily, I happened to be off work that day and was able to stay with my dog. The maintenance team is very nice and tends to respond quickly, I will say. We were moved in at the beginning of July and we were told we were all set. No one mentioned to us that we still owed an admin fee. They waited until August's rent was due to surprise us with that. Then gave us a 2 week extension to pay the couple hundred extra, as were not anticipating it, but they still proceeded to put an eviction notice on our door. I went to the office in person multiple times and emailed (at least) 15 times about my neighbor's screaming husky. The manager, Liz, intentionally ignored me for several weeks. I had to go to the front office several times before I was able to speak with Liz (who was condescending towards me until she actually heard my neighbor's dog for herself). Walls/floors are paper thin. You WILL hear your neighbors. There have been multiple shootings since I moved in this July. Also this past October, SWAT busted down someone's door in the complex. You're forced to pay for their cable/wifi, which overall is the least of my concerns. It's just annoying, as most people dont use cable anymore. Avoid being exploited by these people. If I could afford to break my lease, I would. Spend an extra $100-200 a month to live somewhere nicer right down the road.

I am normally not into leaving reviews and I am extremely happy to have my apartment here at the Parke at Trinity. I love Chris and Mr. Wayne is my go to for anything! However, I miss Chardonney a lot. She always returned my phone calls or voicemails when I left one. She was extremely good with communication cannot say the same with the new leasing staff.

I have growing concerns with my unit. The biggest one being the roach infestation! I am EXTREMELY clean and when I first moved in I had asked them to spray continuously and they came every Friday then they stopped coming. I have never lived with roaches in my life and I definitely don’t want to start now. However, no matter my best efforts of taking my own preventive measures because this issue has gotten out of hand I’m having to leave a review because this is unacceptable! I really don’t care how they feel about it but I have a baby and I see little small baby roaches in my room(which I DO NOT EVEN EAT IN), in my kitchen, and in my bathroom. I kill roaches everyday, like it’s my part time job or something. And I’m exhausted from it! Today I was in my kitchen and decided to go check on my 7 month old son because he was taking a nap and I saw a red roach on my comforter!! No! Just no! I can’t even put him in his crib because I’m afraid something will crawl in his ear! I literally just killed another one next to my nightstand 5 minutes before I made this review. I can’t even sleep properly because this is ridiculous. There is an infestation somewhere in these apartments or something because I literally am so squeaky clean I don’t know where they are coming from. My lease isn’t up until November, but this is definitely not how I want to live until then. Another issue would be the growing mold in my window seals that I constantly clean. Then not to mention we have Valet trash and I don’t even use it because they often don’t come but it’s in our lease so you have to pay for it. I always just take my trash to the dump myself because to even leave it out slide your door will collect more roaches too , in my opinion. Then The old Caucasian maintenance guy who cleans the grounds every morning walks around cleaning with a cigarette in his mouth every morning! Like how is that even professional? We constantly get emails about bettering the community but these buildings look like they been standing since the 1970s with dual paint and the walk ways are always dirty. Then I question the safety of this place often because these kids are going crazy out here! I literally moved in and my door was fine, I gave birth 5 days after moving in and came back and the metal piece that holds the lock in place was knocked off due to someone kicking my door in. Had to put in multiple maintenance request to get the door back on track and it’s still hard to lock. The kids are fighting. Smoking at the pool (because I literally seen it with my own eyes), just running around crazy. One day I’m going to the leasing office and they were outside the front of the leasing office rolling a blunt up! Like what?!! I said something to the leasing agent and she said ā€œthey ghettoā€ like girl what? šŸ˜’ I’m just so irritated tonight that it’s not even funny. Then the bug guy only comes every Friday but the way I see it, he needs to be here every day. You want us to pay but don’t do the upkeep for these apartments. So since you guys choose to bombard my email everyday, I’m going to bombard these reviews. I’m...

*Edit: I immediately reached out to the Parke at Trinity after they replied to this posting. They did not respond. I also reached out to them before filing any police reports and since, to which they have responded that they are not responsible for the crimes committed on their property, despite any action, including, but not limited to, simply ensuring the light on our building shining into the parking lot works (which it has not since before my vehicle was stolen). We are moving, and suggest prospective future tenants consider the lack of care and responsibility the landlords at this apartment complex hold for their tenants. For the sake of our current neighbors at this complex, we hope things improve.

Between Saturday, January 30th and Sunday, January 31st, 2021 my 2016 Toyota Corolla was stolen from my apartment complex parking lot in front of building 1801. It was locked and there were no keys, or expensive items inside. It was found wrecked in Durham. The damage was worth more than the car, so it was a loss. I did not have theft coverage included in my insurance, so this was a total of over $7,400 in hard costs for me.

Within a week of my car being stolen, an apartment in our building (two stories below ours) was broken into. We only know about this incident because an officer knocked on our door to ask if we had seen or heard anything.

Between Wednesday, March 4th and Thursday, March 5th, my partner (who lives with me), noticed that the catalytic converter from underneath his 2007 Prius was stolen. He also did not have theft coverage, so the cost to replace this required part on his car was over $1,200.

This past Saturday, March 6th, we noticed seven police SUVs and a tow truck blocking the parking lot in front of our building at 11:30 PM. A cop who was kind enough to talk to me shared that a stolen vehicle had been recovered in front of our apartment building.

Between the end of December 2020 and March 2021 we have noticed a plethora of large pharmaceutical bottles (not prescriptions) of mostly narcotics in our recycling. We have taken pictures of at least 10 entire recycling trash bins filled to the brim.

These are not the only incidents of criminal activity/reasons we feel unsafe. Just last December 3rd, 2020, there was a stabbing at our apartment complex, covered by WRAL.

For all incidents, the police were informed (for our auto theft, we opened police reports). Also, for each incident our apartment complex was notified. The apartment complex has been dismissive of our reports, saying all of this is "out of [their control]" and that they are "unable to guarantee safety." They refuse to let us out of the last four months of our lease, despite all of this. We have faced a large financial burden as a result of this activity and feel unsafe in our home, where we have...
