First and foremost, I don't typically leave reviews, but this time I felt it was justified. I had an appointment to bring my like-new Nissan GTR to get a new OE steering wheel and a new OE cluster upgrade installed. I was greeted by the manager working the front desk with an attitude, who looked visibly annoyed when I didn't automatically understand him trying to explain their process, which involved running my cluster to their other location. Whatever. There was an issue with the cluster, which required some back and forth, and ultimately the cluster was installed. However, the technician who I initially handed the keys to my car to in the morning told me, "Don't worry, I will treat your car as if it were my own." The end result was damage to multiple places on my leather dashboard (not pictured), damage to the leather-wrapped airbag, and a broken dashboard trim piece which wasn't disclosed. I only found out about these things on my way home because the trim piece rattled loose and came off. Now, every time I see the damage, I just think about the bad experience. I'll get it fixed with leather repair and a replacement trim piece; I just wish they were upfront about it and didn't try to essentially hide the damage with glue....
Read moreIf I could, I would not even give them the ONE STAR. I purchased over $7500.00 worth of electronics for my Raptor, so I would think that the manager of the Ramsey store would try to accommodate me when THEIR installations failed. No...not the case. Instead, he tries to "bait and switch" me with every underhanded trick in the book to try and sell me new and "better" technology. My advice to anyone looking to have these aftermarket items installed: Get a local tech-head to do the installation after research on the web. There are many websites which give you blow by blow descriptions on how to install. But my main recommendation is to STAY AWAY FROM MODEL unless you have a lot of spare time to go back three and four times so they get it installed right, but also be prepared to shell out more $$$$$ to have them fix THEIR MISTAKES!!! Really tired of sitting in their showroom, time after time to get them to repair THEIR CRAPPY INSTALLATION. Oh, by the way: While waiting there for them to repair my headlights for the 5th time today, 2 other customers came in with issues with the installations. ...
Read moreI had an excellent experience with Model Electronics and can’t recommend them enough. Before I found Dan and the team, I was completely lost trying to figure out all the confusing steps with getting an interlock device and preparing everything for the DMV. Information online is vague and honestly misleading at times. I was recommended a device by Dan that never gave me an issue. Not every brand of IID is made equal, and his advice was spot on.
From start to finish, the staff at Model Electronics were incredibly helpful and understanding. They walked me through every detail and made the entire process feel smooth and stress free. I've read many nightmare stories online about dealing with these devices and thanks to the help I received there, i did not have to experience any of that.
If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly recommend giving Model Electronics a call. They made a tough process feel manageable, and I truly appreciate everything they did to help me. Thank...
