Bob McDermott Lakeview Park — Attraction in Random Lake

A nice little lake beach on Random Lake. The water is much warmer and safer for swimming than Lake Michigan, but it is not quite as nice. Still, this is a great spot for young children. Lake is small, relatively shallow, and calm. There are usually a lot of power boats on the lake and there is a public boat launch. You have to pay to use it.

Parking is a bit of a rip off at $5 per day for "non residents", but you can park for free on the street one block west of the pay lot. All the streets immediately adjacent to the park have "no parking this side of street" signs on BOTH sides of the street. If you are OK with a short walk, you can park for free.

I do not wish to complain about the town collecting revenue from people who use the beach, boat launch, and park. I am sure that the money collected goes to upkeep of the park and facilities. $5 is very reasonable for the day, and if you are spending the whole day there you should pay. However, if you only be plan on spending a couple of hours there $5 may not be worth it.

Great place to drop a boat quick and ski or fish. The lake is deep in the Middle With substantial, very shallow areas. A great lake to fish for Northern and tiger muskie. Occasionally bass or crappies will bite. There are muskies as well. And a ton of carp. Good place to have a picnic with your family. The park is very kid friendly. There are life jackets I believe a lifeguard provides them during business hours. The celebration for the 4th of July is at this park. It's a nice place. I walk my pup hoping to meet a single woman. Went to see the fireworks, people in Lake parking lot and by library could not see because they were shot off in a horrible location where trees were blocking the view, we were there a few yrs back and they were shot off where everyone could see them, maybe the people on boats could see them.
