OK - people, here is my official review of Lakefront Cafe: I love this place, and I'm biased... because.... by birth... I am a lover of great food. :) And! I'm also a lover of community, and a lover of the small-town American dream. And, what could be more American than Mario and Claudia's dream of being a part of this community... ? We've known them from "Hwy 57".. and we know their food is phenomenal. After leaving the highway restaurant they've continued to invest in Random Lake and the surrounding area by renovating local homes. Please please please, keep this restaurant and these lovely people in our community by supporting Lakefront Cafe & Mexican Grill. Great Margaritas, Great Food! (My favs: Super Chimichangas: chicken/chorizo, Strawberry Margarita blended with salted rim, and ask for their traditional hot Chile de Arbol sauce.... I totally recommend Midway Eats instead. Better atmosphere, better food, better service, better quality of proprietors.
This place is NOT good. The food and drinks are way over priced with small portions to boot. The term "authentic" has no place here. These are people that had a failed Mexican food business further up 57. They brought he food, same portions, same service with them.
Their goal doesn't seem to be to serve the people but take from the people. They pass off poor food as "traditional" and these poor farmers believe them. Sad.
