What a treat! If you are passing through Raymond, or live nearby you really need to stop by the museum. The carriages and wagons span from elegant and historic carriages to postal delivery to all manner of work wagons. All displayed in unique settings with period correct furnishings, and surroundings. Men, women and children of all ages will find something to marvel at. From fine leather and fabric interior furnishings to ornate woodwork to meticulously crafted blacksmith and metalwork. We were lucky enough to have Jerry, the owner and restorer demonstrate the creative and innovative designs from the past. Don't miss the carriage with the disappearing second seat. Also, they have a section devoted to youth with interactive displays. The entrance fee is very reasonable and they have a large easy access...

We happened to see this place advertised in a local tourist type magazine, so thought it would be a good half way point to stop on our way home. We had no idea the treat we were in for. Jerry, the curator, happened to be there and shared a wealth of knowledge, history, and fun stories with our group. So much more than what can be read on their display signs. If you plan to visit, just call ahead and schedule a tour with him. The museum is very well done with excellent displays, a penny smasher machine, gift shop, and hands on area for interactive learning. Next door is a coffee shop and Maritime Museum. It's definitely...

We had a fantastic time yesterday at the Northwest Carriage Museum. Laurie was so kind and took the time to tell us about a number of the carriages and the history behind them. It was amazing to see how different carriages used splash guards in different places, how windows were raised and lowered, carriages from all over the world and how the styles changed over time! The highlight for me was getting to see the carriage used in the movie Gone With the Wind, but there is so much more to enjoy besides that. And the children's area was so much fun, not only for kids but for...

Stumbled upon this after speaking with some locals. AMAZING. The curators are very knowledgeable. There are refurbished carriages that are spectacular. They have several from movie sets. The barn as they call it has some very unique carriages including an old Studebaker and a mail carriage. This is a must see and will be in my upcoming pacific northwest travel book. They will walk with you and share their knowledge.

What a unique museum! Get a feel of what life was like in the 1800's. Thus far 57 carriages, buggies and sleighs. History, film stars and more. Interactive displays and special programs for children. This museum. Is open 363 days a year, 10-4. (Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas) Worth the stop if you are on a US101 trip in Washington. $8 admission. Deals for seniors and veterans. This is recommended!
