We only had about 40 minutes to spend here, but is was well worth it. Captain Pete is a character and so, so knowledgeable about his collection. And what a collection it is! Beautifully categorized and lovingly displayed. If you went to the Smithsonian or a "professional" museum you would see maybe 1/20 of the items of display. Here everything earns equal respect and has contextual background information. Everywhere you look there are fantastic objects to contemplate. It is a heartfelt homage to a vanished way of maritime life. This place is a gem in the rough and richly deserves a visit. I plan on coming back when I have more time. Read moreWe stopped in at the Willapa Seaport Museum which is located next to the carriage museum they charge at the carriage museum. The Seaport museum is free. We met the tour guide. Vernon gave us a complete and thorough tour of the museum. Very fascinated. Too many items to mention but plenty of pictures to show.
