Prima Family Dental — Attraction in Reading

I have had a few terrible experiences with dentists, as I'm sure many of you have. Finding a new dentist and looking through online reviews for hours is daunting to say the least. Let me stop you right here - call Prima Family Dental.

First and foremost, finding a place that A) accepted MassHealth and B) would take me without weeks of having to wait, was near impossible. I spent years putting off getting dental work done just because of the hassle of getting an appointment. Not at Prima. I contacted the office yesterday and got a callback later that day. They asked if I'd like to come in today. I couldn't believe it!

The practice is brand new. It's clean, bright, and all the dental equipment is brand new. I was so impressed from the beginning!

Dr. Alla is, to say the very least, amazing. She puts your mind at total ease (for those of you like myself who have anxiety about the dentist). I walked in fearing the worst, and I walked out feeling like a million bucks. She even went so far as to fix a chip I had on my front tooth that had been bothering me and making me self-conscious for months. I can't stop looking in the mirror. I'm so happy!

Yesenia at the front desk is bright and helpful. And Glena, who took my x-rays and polished my teeth, is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable dental hygienists I've ever met. Again, I cannot say enough good things about this place.

I'll be back in two days for a followup. For the first time in years, I can say I am not nervous to go to the dentist. I'm actually looking forward to it. I'll be recommending all my family and friends...

I originally had set up an appointment for a week from now, my first dental appt in 27 yrs, over the weekend i began having MAJOR pain, I called first thing Monday morning 7/16 knowing i needed atleast one extraction. The receptionist was very polite, friendly and professional and she was able to get me in Monday afternoon. Upon arrival i completed my registration and was almost immediately brought to an exam room. The hygenist or dental assistant (I think her name was Erin....sorry if I got the name wrong) gave me a couple x-rays and got me ready for the dentist. I found her to be very professional and caring, explaining what was going to take place for the appointment. I was then introduced to Dr. Shikhanovich who was very nice, i explained my fears and concerns about my upcoming proceedures, she assured me that she would conduct my extraction with minimal to no pain, it took three or four rounds of Novacaine but once we got me numb enough she went right to work and was able to extract my tooth. I am someone who had very bad experiences as a child going to the dentist.......this was completly the opposite! The Dr. and her assistant kept me informed of everything and were very gental and professional....I cannot say enough good about my experience at Prima Family Dental, I would definitly recommend this office to anyone who needs dental work. Worse dentist ever, would avoid this place at all costs!! True - Previous comment, "the doctor didn't really stay and finish with me talking she had to leave the room a couple of times" - Totally dysfunctional and poor bedside manners. Yes they overlap appointments with other patients, knowing full when that you have to wait for no other reason... happens every time.

Second you will also be your own dental hygienist holding the dental suction, as a the dental assistant, hygienist here is non existent. A real dentist has an army of people near them that is when you know when your are a real place that is competent and runs a real operation. The front desk person is the rudest person I have dealt with.

Note: They removed perfectly fine fillings had previously done and removed then just to bill me... needed follow-up with another competent dentist whom knows how to explain things and not interest in billing for busy work. When pressed for answers, good luck. If you want to get work done and come back multiple times to correct a simple bite filling, and having pain and complications after simple or unjustified procedures, then this is the...
