Nestled in the heart of Redlands, Ford Park is a beautiful and well-kept park that offers a range of activities for visitors of all ages. From its serene duck pond to its well-maintained picnic tables, the park is a great spot to spend a relaxing day outdoors with family and friends.
The picnic tables at Ford Park provide the perfect spot for a family gathering or a lunchtime picnic. The well-kept grounds offer a peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it easy to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
One of the park's highlights is the duck pond, which is a lovely feature that attracts visitors of all ages. It's always a delight to watch the ducks swim and play, and children will love feeding them. Additionally, the fishing at the pond is a great way to spend an afternoon, and the variety of fish in the pond keeps things interesting.
While the park offers a range of activities, during my visit, I noticed that the restrooms were under repair. While this was a bit inconvenient, it's understandable that maintenance and repairs need to be done to keep the park in good condition.
Overall, Ford Park is a great spot for a day out with family or friends. It's clear that the park is well-maintained, with clean and well-kept grounds. Once the restroom repairs are complete, it will only add to the convenience and comfort of the park. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing spot to spend some time outdoors in Redlands, Ford Park is definitely...
Read moreMixed feelings about this dog park. It's clear that the Redlands Park and Rec team negelct the up keep of both the small and large dog sides of the park, more so, the large dog side. That side has poor grading and drainage and is a mix of dust and mud with little grass. The tables and benches are alright but are rarely cleaned/maintained.
Parking is alright but at the two East and West extremes of the park and if one is full it ain't easy getting to the other. The area is nice and quite beautiful which is this parks strongest characteristic. When I take my Goldie here I use the chuck-it outside the park fences in the open grass area. Mostly because, I don't want to have to give my pup a bath every time we go with how dusty and muddy it can be in the large dog section.
It's fairly busy most of the day, early mornings are your best bet for quiet dog time. Most people are nice, however, when it comes to controlling their dogs most exhibit little care or skill nor can people read when dogs are fighting or playing and it leads to a lot of unnecessary drama and breaking up dog playing because all they see is fighting.
Oh, and watch out for dog poop, people are very discourteous and rarely pickup after their dog unless lots of...
Read moreThis little tucked away park has a lot of activities packed into a small space. They've got multiple tennis courts which often have lessons going on, raqutball courts, dog park, a disc golf course, duck ponds, picnic areas, and a playground for the kids.
The disc golf course is pretty fun, but I would say they made some poor choices on the proximity of the picnic areas to the route of the disc golfers. I've seen a couple people get hit, and a ton of close calls, which inevitably leads to bad vibes between the golfers and other patrons. For those unfamiliar with disc golf, you should know that while it may look like we're just throwing a relatively harmless frisbee around, that disc is much more dense, and getting hit with one will surely ruin your day, or even put you in the hospital. Also know that golfers can tend to have a low degree of empathy for the non-golfers who happen to be between them and the basket. I'm not sure if this is a genetic condition, or if it has to do with the fact that disc golf is often paired with the consumption of canned beer, and/or the wacky weed. So, non-golfers, keep your eyes peeled, and consider yourself...
