This trail was a lovely experience; however, it would be nice if there were a little more information about the trail available at its head.

I took my mother-in-law for a walk and was surprised but there weren't opportunities to move off the trail and back onto the road. The only option we saw was to turn around and head back to the beginning of the trail.

It seems to me that a community trail like this ought to have more opportunities to enter and exit it. It also ought to have signage at the trailhead explaining that how long the trail is start to finish and whether it is possible to exit the trail at any point.

It does begin with a large descent which means you have a rather large assent upon your return. My 79-year-old mother-in-law is in rather good physical condition, however we had to stop three times going up this steep incline in order to accommodate her needs. It is significant.

We did cross over a little stream with the bridge, which was lovely, and we had a deer sighting. That deer was unafraid of people! I permitted us to approach much closer than I expected. Was pretty cool, but I do worry about it being overly acclimated to people.

Still, it's a lovely little foresty retreat for anyone interested in a...

Decided to go to the right when presented with the split early in the trail to check it out as it was a first time. I had my dog with me and as I got to the top of the hill, there was an old fire pit with a trash bag left there and copious amounts of broken glass all over and down the side trails from there. Definitely would not recommend doing if you have a dog or children. At the bottom of the paved hill, it has a very strong odor of dead fish. Unclear if this is a regular thing or if it was the...

The Twin Branches Nature Trail is a part of the Reston Association footpaths that meander through forested areas in Reston, Virginia. The trail head, located at the intersection of Twin Branches Road and Glade Drive, wanders along the Snakeden Branch stream in a pleasant wooded haven known locally as The Glade. Free parking is available on Twin...

Surprisingly a long trail. I like how the trees are very tall. Well covered throughout most of the trail. My only complaint is that it is not well marked. There is a point when it diverges to three different trails.
