Roots and Boots — Attraction in Rexburg

I went on 6/21 expecting a good time country swinging. I stayed for 45 minutes in which not a single country song was played. For example, Fireflies by Owl City was played to swing to. The DJ did not play any requests in that time, and played line dances only a handful of individuals knew. Overall I am severely disappointed and will not be returning. One redeeming quality was I met some people with whom I bonded on how bad the music choices were. At one point the DJ played the first ten seconds of a country song, heralded by cheers, only to shut it off and say ‘we had enough of that last night’ amidst boos and heckles. While I haven't been to Roots and Boots physical location, I can tell you that Nathan McCall is an incredible instructor. We hired him for private lessons to be ready for our first dance at our wedding and in 5 weeks Nathan definitely got us there! He was also willing to drive 45 minutes each way 1-2x a week to instruct! We also hired him for line dancing at our wedding and everyone had so much fun. Used to be a super fun place to dance at, but this Fall semester is not it. That place cannot accommodate 600 people at all. There was hardly any room to dance and no one was making announcements for people to step back if they weren’t dancing. Barely got to dance at all the 2 hours I was there.
