First and foremost, I have visited this park now for my second time. The first time was very late after leaving from Santa Rosa, I pulled off the highway to take a break with my dog and saw the signs. I had no idea the whole time it was a dog park. I realize now that the area was closed when I was here the first time must have been from about 12:00am-4:00am I spent here so sorry to the regulars and community and staff for that I had no idea this park existed.. This park is very clean, and seems to have its own community that look after the area, and also hard working park staff that I see clear evidence of well done erosion prevention in many ways. I've never before heard of a 2ish mile long dog park.. let alone with a view and sunset such as this one, so many friendly dogs, water to play in, and in my opinion one of the more impressive features, is the quantity of trash cans there are and poop baggies. The good baggies too.. I could go on and on.. whoever thought of this insane one of a kind dog amusement park and community almost rather than a simple dog park, I thank you very much. I heard volunteering is an active thing here, I live 45 minutes away in Saratoga, but I would love to participate in that perhaps, and I'll grab some merch to support. I think I saw signage for that in the bulletin board. I'll read the adorable PIDO Pointer and that should point me in the right direction to volunteer and contribute or donate. Seriously, thanks for this park. My pup Odin has never been happier than running around here, even just him and I, but the...
Read moreThis off-leash park is absolutely wonderful for dogs. They can run around and romp with each other for hours on end.
For dogs that wander into the Bay, a water faucet with attached hose is available for owners to wash off mud and saltwater at the Rydin parking lot side.
At the roundabout main entrance (just pass the Costco gas station), Mud Puppies offers baths and other services for a fee. A small café sells beverages, sandwiches, and pastries. Concrete and wooden picnic tables abound too throughout this East Bay Regional Park.
As for restrooms, the Rydin lot offers single restrooms (gross). The main entrance has adjoining male and female restrooms. Water fountains for owners and dogs can be found at both parking lots.
Poop bag stations along with trash cans are available at various intervals. Across the bridge, however, only one poop bag station is available. And it can be found towards the far right side. Trash cans are also noticeably sparse. Of course, owners are obliged to bag their dog's poop.
Aggressive dogs that attack are not welcome. Every owner whose dog attacks and injures another dog or owner is legally obligated to provide his or her name and contact information to the injured party.
Elderly and disabled folk use wheelchairs and adult strollers to get around the park.
Bicycling is forbidden on the asphalt and dirt/grass trails inside Pt. Isabel. Fenced-off areas must...
Read moreOff leash! Parking! Water! Nice dogs! Nice humans! Overall I am so happy with Point Isabel. Living in the East Bay 1. It's hard to find off leash parks 2. Find parks where dogs can swim. I live in Oakland so it's a quick drive as long as you don't go during traffic hours. Who am I kidding, theres always traffic in the bay. Even with traffic it's about 15 minutes away. I have a labrador a.k.a. a high energy dog that never gets tired. This is the only place, that when my dog gets home, he passes right out! It's right off the freeway which is convenient and also located next to Costco! Yay.
My dog is a water baby and spends most the time running around, swimming, and chasing his ball. We have very friendly interactions with other furry friends. It's a very nice crowd of people and I feel very safe here. There's trash bags and garbage cans around, pretty much everywhere which is nice. There's bathrooms to use and a water station/hose for your dogs. Did I mention the spectacular view. Hit that sunrise or sunset and you won't regret it. 5 barks for...
