Don't waste your time on faulty products, up charged prices, with the WORST customer service!
I ordered umbrellas because our current umbrellas (bought from Pottery Barn) faded in just one season and the poles themselves rusted through with holes in them. I was told that because Patio.com sells these year round, they have better quality items with warranties. I was assured these would not rust, fade, or break.
There was a delay in shipping because of COVID and a run on orders from businesses creating outdoor spaces for customers so we received them in the fall (after the pool was closed). We stored them in the house until the pool opened this year. When we opened them for the first time this summer, the umbrella snapped. Immediately upon opening.
When I contacted the store, I was given the run around and told that all of the people I worked with for the original purchase were no longer working with that store. To this day, I don't know why that matters. I finally was given a different number for customer service and left a message. I received an email back that I would have to pay for shipping for a new umbrella. I called again and asked to please speak with someone. I finally spoke to a woman who agreed that it didn't seem appropriate that I would have to pay to replacement an item that was clearly shipped damaged. I was then told that it would be taken care of. That was over 30 days ago.
I just emailed again to find out the status and discovered that no one had escalated this. The Galtek company rep was contacted and per customer service at Patio.com, the company said that they could ship out the rib that broke as long as I pay the shipping fee. So I have to pay for them to ship out a replacement part for an umbrella that they sent to me damaged, then I have to pay to have the Patio.com team actually replace the broken rib.
I replied to the email that it makes no sense to me why I am responsible for fixing this since I ordered a brand new umbrella and received a broken one. They should have sent me a brand new umbrella when I ordered it in the first place!
Say what you will about Pottery Barn but at least those umbrellas still open and function as umbrellas...even if the fabric is weirdly faded after a...
Read moreIf i could give -5 starts i would. My wife and I were looking to get a patio dining set for our new home. We were going to go to the typical spots(Lowes, Home Depot, Ray&Flan etc) but stopped here late in a Sunday night first figuring this is their specialty. We saw a nice 4 chair table set with umbrella and thought it was very beautiful. I could swear it started at about $2800 but by the time you add the cushions etc somehow it had jumped to $4500. My wife was so excited that i greed and we started the final sale session. At the very end the salesperson casually mentions it wont be delivered until early September(4 months away) because of COVID blah blah...That sort of set me back but i went with it. He handed us the sales agreement wrapped up in a packet. After we left i just couldn't stop thinking this was just wrong to wait so long fpr the delivery and miss the whole summer. But when i got the agreement out it stated words to the effect of "no cancellations/refunds". Well the store had closed so the next morning my wife called and they reiterated the store policy of no cancelations or refunds of any kind. When my wife explained that we had just been in there about 15 hours ago they said they would speak to the manager. A few hours later they called us back and said the best they could do was to charge us a 35% re-stocking fee($1500). When we said.... "What restocking?..... we were just in there 15 hrs ago on a Sunday..........its not like it has been assembled/delivered yet. There was silence on the phone. Needless to say this place is a scam of overpriced but beautiful stuff. Pls be aware of the no refund/cancel policy because no one ever mentioned this and there are no signs in the showroom stating...
Read morePatrick made our visit to the Ridgefield location extremely fun the first time we visited a year ago, and we just had another great time recently! We got a great umbrella, while laughing and learning all about the various options. He went way, way out of his way (including checking inventory in person at another store on our behalf) to help us find chaise lounges that fit our budget. We couldn’t be happier with them. I would come here to hang out with the staff in my free time. It was great and the inventory is excellent. Very high end options and...
