My second child 10 years passed is now at the Ridley YMCA. She has completed pre k and kindergarten. Like my older child 10 years prior she is enrolled in the summer program. What a difference 10 years makes. My older child couldn't wait to go and didn't want to leave. The staff was so attentive and receptive to all the kids needs. I couldn't of been happier. I wish I could say the same now. On several occasions seems to be becoming more frequent I've been unnoticed and so has my child. When she arrived this morning I sat in the car and watched her standing in front of 3 people. I'd expect a greeting or something, nothing. I was really struggling. My daughter has asthma and dialy the meds come and go with us. Yesterday they were misplaced and I held up the car line waiting for her "RESCUE " INHALER to be located. Today at drop off I walked her up, she was signed in and asked if she could go to the bathroom. The staff let me know 2 days prior she had been going a lot and she was picked up, taken to doctors and test results will be in today. The response was " I cant take you to the potty every 15 minutes". I asked why she didn't go at home and 6 year old .... My reply was " I'll take the risk of my job being late and take her". Off we went. I have paid , no subsadatiions, not behind , never late. I kind of feel that I'm paying for a service that I'm not getting and you're working for my daughter and me. I'm in the service industry , automotive repair. Internally your cars treated like its mine , like my precious cargo is riding in it but that's also what my employer requires of me. Lately I've been feeling not mistreated just not treated at all and let down knowing what the vibe was...
Read moreI used to love the Y but yesterday my family/wife had a very bad experience with the rudest person supposedly she works as customer Sevice while she does not even know the meaning of the word and definitely who hired her has to review the metrics of hiring as the main reason to have customer service is to be polite and find ways and means to resolve customers issues not to make their issues harder and unresolvable as that is why they get paid and hired !!!!!!. So disappointed from the lever of rudeness and she also used racist words and unacceptable words will take the issue up with management before making an official police complaint against the staff herself. We have been with the Y since 2019 and never faced any issues like that so that was a shock for us as a family. When ur staff (previous or present provide wrong information we as customers have no way to know if this correct or not!!!!) THE YMCA RIDLEY EASTERN DELCO (BIG ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTITUDE AND NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL BIG ZERO RESOLVING CUSTOMER ISSUES & BIG ZERO INFORMATION) 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. Adding to the above pool management now is clearly proving and showing very poor and leadership. The Y used to be for families now it seems to not welcome children and make it near impossible to teach kids how to swim while playing and enjoying their time and this has nothing to do with the life guards at all as they are very helpful polite...
Read moreI've experienced nothing but problems since joining last year. I was given no welcome packet, I was NOT provided with information on what membership covered I was provided a piece of paper showing when the pool was open. My daughter was enrolled in before and after School care (at her school)... there was no direction given for pick up or drop off... the days the school is closed they do watch the children at the Y, in a basketball court... my child's been hit in the head multiple times by balls flying... and again no direction for pick up or drop off. There seemed to be lack of supervision of the children, my daughter has "special needs" and has fallen multiple times resulting in rips in her pants and cuts and I only ever received one incident report. Twice her school bag was moved from one location to another and other children helped themselves to her pencil case breaking every crayon and using glue sticks in the wall. I never received emails about camp registration, or even informed she needed to be re-enrolled for the same before and after school care for proceeding year. I was faced with "That's a you problem not an us problem". check out the website as well... you'll find no information for before and after school care... hush hush secretive...
