I mean, it's a Port. Although if you're going there for the Cruise portion, at least from what I've seen, they are more concerned with watching their security team than your vehicle. I had to get something out of my car and got the key back from the vale, and walked past their little booth by the green gate. The Cameras were on the rent a cop another rent a cop at another gate and stuff behind the gate. Only Camera on the cars were the ones that were parked by the entrance. Which I'm pretty sure the RaC could see out their window. This was multiple occasions and as a former RaC I'm always curious about how good or bad security is. I even stopped by when dropping people off for cruises and glanced in at the cameras. The lady on duty just watched her phone as I said I was just looking at the boat. Even when I asked the RaC about the cameras they said only have the cameras on the screen. They may have fixed this by now because I haven't been there in 2 years, but who knows. I also went there at night once to drop an Uber off at a Yacht. The RaC did come out of the booth and told me where Yacht was, but you can see there was only him and one little security car behind the gate where the actual boats "make birth" aka park and "drop anchor". And that car sped off to another side of the port.
For the actual buildings? I mean the office building on the one side of the bridge is an office building, a little out dated, think 1980s. While the Terminal is at least in the 90s even though when Jimmy bought it they remodeled the outside. They got a couple vending machines, lines made by "rop drops" and chairs you'd find in doctors offices. One escalator going up, one down and one small elevator. Bathrooms on the top and bottom and those old water fountains you'd find in...
ย ย ย Read moreHorrible, horrible, horrible. It took almost three hours to get through customs, after a very long wait on the ship because the line was so backed up.
Our level was supposed to disembark the ship at 10 a.m. It is currently 1:15 p.m.
For the first two hours of that they only had ONE person working to process entries, for a cruise disembark with thousands of people. Toward the very end of our wait they had three open up. This cruise arrives every two days at the same exact time. Why they were not prepared from this is beyond me.
We asked some cruise employees who were helping with crowd control and they stated that it is like this EVERY TIME. Isn't this part of our expensive port taxes that we pay on our cruise tickets?
I will have to think long and hard before I choose to go in and out of...
ย ย ย Read moreWe went on a 1 night cruise and coming off the ship was more โsecureโ than coming off.. the staff watched the line like hawks to make sure no one was on their cell. I found a note on the wall that someone left as a nice gesture just saying โyouโre specialโ and to pass it on, so I did and put it somewhere else and the guy made me feel like I left something illegal. Then I get to the customs agent (no facial scan at this port) and he looks at my passport picture and says โwow this is an old picture..โ like ok thanks dude, how rude. I told him โyeah Iโve become a mother since that picture.โ Then a bag scan walking out the door after customs..one guy to scan 1600 passengers. Disappointed..Iโve been to Miami port, ft laud, port canaveral, all Iโve never been treated...
