Can't believe I grew up here and never visited Berks History Center until now. Highly recommend checking it out. It's loaded with recognizable Berks Country brands, names, and history which makes me proud to be from Berks. Admission is $7 for adults. They close pretty early by 3pm.

Catered a private birthday party here a few weeks ago. I would highly recommend visiting the Berks History Center as it is a treasure-trove of wonderful collections of local artifacts! They were highlighting WW1 when we were there and the role Berks County veterans played in it.

My son's kindergarten class visited Berks History Center on a field trip and I was able to attend to help. The tour was just the right length for the kids and they LOVED the hands on room filled with old fashioned toys and clothes and such.

A true hidden GEM of Reading and Berks County. There is room after room filled with artifacts and information about Berks County and the surrounding area. Categories like military, music, industry, agriculture, and transportation are all covered. The miniature city of Reading from times past was a true surprise. If history is of any interest, check out their website or just go visit.

Just for the sake of mentioning, they have a time capsule there that was sealed in 1918 and will be opened in...

Wow! So many more amazing themed exhibits with really cool historical artifacts from Berks county than I thought. Every room had really neat objects to look at and read about from various time periods. Off the top of my head we enjoyed the murals in the first room, the toboggan, the photography exhibit by blind people, the Victorian room, the marionettes, the hardware and the hands on children’s room. They also have frequent...

This organization is such a gem. Start here to research your family history. Tour the museum to see the beauty your ancestors created in wood, pottery, metal and fabric. For excellent, quality educational programs at a minimal cost (don't say there's nothing to do around here) look into what this organization has to offer you and your family. Get curious....
