Faulty service, grossly overcharged their quoted price, and parts were stolen from my computer.
I took in my pc to have fans replaced, the set I bought weren't performing so they offered what they had in stock. Upon first using the PC the following day 3 of the fans had flickering LEDs, the CPU cooler had not been hooked up after their install, as well as the USB 2.0 to the motherboard. I contacted them about replacing the fans with something more reliable and they stated they would only replace them for the same brand. The following startup 9 of the 10 fans were not functioning correctly as well as 1 of the 2 fan hubs. After contacting about the fans malfunctioning they would not replace the fans with something of better quality, nor would they refund the full purchase price.
Also, several components from my PC provided to Hidden Gem computers were not returned after picking up the pc and when I went to recover them they would not give them to me and did not offer compensation nor would they refer me to their management or owner.
Thirdly, they quoted $40 for diagnostic and that they would only charge parts thereafter, and with about $100 dollars in fans, the total came to just under $600 for my project with no amendment from the original quote prior to billing.
I recommend taking your products anywhere but here.
Response to owners reply: My PC was brought in fully assembled, so there's the first lie; secondly, your fan kit was entirely returned as you kept the third hub, boxes, and fan screws then used the fan screws from the kits I provided, keeping the ones from your brand. Thirdly, I brought everything neatly in a tote with a box for all parts, and after packaging the parts to be returned I noticed all the parts you kept for yourselves rendering me unable to get my money back for all 9 of those fan kits. ($212.95) To verify your third lie, you admittedly offered up 2 PCIe cables and a SATA PSU cable along with a "cooler master" brand ARGB splitter as what you claimed to have left over from my build, but no cooler master parts were used in my PC, and no PSU wires were missing from my build, therefore you clearly attempted to cover up your loss or theft of my parts by offering up random extra wires you had lying around. And what a disgrace to tell me your self that you were just the shift leader and couldn't give out your managements contact info yet here you are running the businesses facebook page. What shady business practice over what should have been such a simple return of parts that were...
Read moreLiving in or near the Rochester area, you are probably well aware that there are not that many stores that focus on PC Parts. Yeah, you got BestBuy, but they don't really have those odd-ball items you're looking for to help build your PC, and besides, I'd much rather shop at a privately-owned store than a corporate-owned franchise.
Earlier today, I was in need of a computer case. I looked online and quickly decided that I didn't want to wait for shipping. I went over my options and thought about BestBuy. I know BestBuy has some cases, but I didn't know if they would have what I was looking for. I decided to look for a MicroCenter near me and found one a little over an hour away. Now, if you're anything like me, you probably don't want to drive an hour out just to potentially find what you're looking for. As a last ditch effort, I went to google and voice searched "Computer Parts Near Me". To my amzment, BestBuy wasn't the first to pop up. In comes Hidden Gems! I noticed it was only a mile away, so I hopped in the car and drove the short distance. Upon entering the store, I was greeted with a plethora of retro-gaming consoles, accessories, games, etc. I saw a couple computer cases (which is what I came for), so I started looking. Found exactly what I was looking for relatively quick with the help of the employees. I decided to continue browsing the store a bit and to my amazement, came across their computer parts area. They have a better selection of CPUs than BestBuy. They have odd-ball items like reservoir fillers (bottles that make it easy to fill a custom water cooled loop), they had AIO coolers, GPU, Motherboards, pretty much everything a computer nerd would be looking for in a store.
When interacting with the employees there, they treated me as if I was a long-time friend of theirs rather than some random customer. It really made me feel at home. Super friendly and helpful. The overall environment of this place is super friendly and fun.
I highly recommend that everyone who is into computer gaming and retro gaming to give this place a visit. You won't be...
Read moreI fried my motherboard on my pre built computer and stopped in here to ask some questions and see what I can do. Dude was extremely nice and explained everything he recommended an inexpensive but nice motherboard but because it was a pre built computer I also needed a new power supply and probably a new case... Lucky for me a lady sold her half built PC at the time I was in there and I bought the case and power supply off of him for an exceptional price!! Everything in the store is reasonably priced! He sells used, new, and open box products. He even put the motherboard in for me and hooked up all the fan and power cables! (His website mentions installing your parts) I got home installed my CPU, ram, hard drives, and CPU cooler turned it on and it said press y to update ftpm and I wasnt sure what that was and called him he said it just tells your pc you have new hardware in it and to go ahead and press y and then look up the motherboard drivers to update. They are very knowledgeable and willing to explain and help. I wasn't expecting to walk in and walk out with new products to get my PC running again and especially not at exceptional prices! What a life saver 10/10 recommended Guy was very knowledgeable was busier...
