A little update: I know the company responded to my last review but I wasn't looking for handouts, just a good experience. I know things were messed up from the pandemic but I'm not sure what the problem is now. I went in with a gift certificate and worked out my costs just right. It rang up $1.25 when all was done and the gift was applied; however, I was charged $11.25. My receipt was thrown away by the cashier so I have no ability to contest it with the type of register system they have. It's a shame because I really love this place, but now I have to double check every little thing. Watch how much you're being charged (I've been overcharged before on weighed produce) and get your receipt!!
Old review: While I really like this place and it's concept, I am not impressed with the service. I have been shopping here since moving to Maine earlier this year and this is the 3rd time I was over charged, except today I decided to say something. It's really strange to me that I could be mischarged each time for something that plainly had the price sticker on it. Also, the first time I was there I was offered your reward system and signed up. The next time I went I asked about it and the clerk at the register didn't know what i was referring to for some reason so I gave up on that, until today I overheard the clerk tell someone how many points they had. I have been here multiple times since that second visit, spending a couple of hundred dollars at least, and was never asked for my phone number to apply to points, including today until I inquired about it. And I'm not even sure if they got applied today as I cannot tell by the receipt of points I was given. Could you make things a little more uniform at your business? I would have given a 2 rating but I really love the local products your provide. I also felt the same way Leslie did in a prior review about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFresh Off The Farm has high potential to be my new go-to place for local fresh stuff, if customers would follow the instructions right inside the door**.
The store is a bit small/cramped, but holds a great variety of items from soap to fresh vegetables to baked goods to cheese. Every time you turn a corner, thereās something else you didnāt know you needed. The prices are also astoundingly good! The produce is just fresh picked, so you donāt get that large grocery store mold or weirdly thawed produce.
**Instructions: To take a sanitized basket, and if there are none there, to wait outside until there was a basket ready. This helps them keep count of the customers in the store, and keeps it from being...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeriously disappointed. I should have known by how it looked & the priceā¦ā¦. Their self serve local raw honey is advertised as UNFILTERED. It is NOT.
I accidentally ended up in a conversation with someone from Maine Maple & the subject came up. They stated they filter all their honey. And the relationship isnāt as local as this farm store makes it out to be, Maine Maple was clueless as to the store I was talking about until I described it further. Makes me wonder what else isnāt organic or raw. Targeting tourists who they think wonāt find out. Wow!!! Thatās clearly false advertisement and deceit on their part. They KNOW it is...
