If you look at my other reviews you will see that I only review businesses that deserve my energy. So that means that you are getting 1 or 5 stars. Anything else is just mediocre and I am not wasting my time writing those reviews. PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE REVIEW TO THE END!!!!
If you are in the market for a new bow or crossbow, look no further. If you need service done on your archery equipment, search no more.
I decided to get back into archery hunting after 18 years out of the game. I stumbled into archery country armed only with the knowledge I found on the internet. I needed to be educated and I wanted to make an informed decision. I have never felt more appreciated as a customer. From the beginning to the end I was treated incredibly fair and every question I had was answered. More importantly though I watched another customer get helped that was in a very different position than myself. Quite quickly they realized I was there to spend a lot of money as I looked only at top of the line bows and ended up spending a borderline ludacris amount of money. However it was the care and attention to the gentleman that was also in there buying his first bow ever that stood out to me. He was not spending much and buying a cheaper bow with basically no accessories. He and I were treated no different. They helped him every step of the way. He had more questions (some even maybe stupid) and they were all answered with grace. I got a chance to shoot with him on the practice range and we talked a little bit. It was incredibly fun to see the excitement that was created for him by the staff at this location.
Sure, some of you will think that you can go buy the bow and accessories cheaper online (I almost did). That will be the biggest mistake of your purchase. These guys will make sure that you will get EXACTLY what you want and try to work within your budget (if its realistic). The service that comes with the slightly elevated priced is worth way more than the difference.
This is a busy archery shop and when you are making an expensive purchase you want to make sure everything is correct. All in, they have spent at least 3 hours with me. That means that not everyone gets helped the first 30 seconds they walk in. I watched them do their absolute best to help every person as quickly as possible. However the first time I walked in, I didn't get help for over an hour. If you are ignorant you might think that means they don't care. You are mistaken. There were just 8 customers that needed help and only 2 people to help them. Everyone thinks of archery during hunting season and month leading up to it, YOU and EVERYONE else. However during the off season very few people are in there. They cant staff heavy for a 3 month period of the year and lay everyone else off during the other 9. Make sure you have realistic expectations.
They care about your experience and your business, and if you give them a little grace you will walk out feeling amazing about your purchase. Whether you need new nocks or a 3400 dollar bow.
My archery journey will never leave this shop. Yours...
Read moreI stopped in today into the Rogers store. I have been there before with my kids as at the time my oldest wanted a bow so I bought him a Starter bow, he is 7. His younger brother recently said he wanted one, so I was thinking about picking up a bow for him as well. I also wanted to spark their interest and let them try out a better bow than the one I got my older some. I also wanted to look at a Long bow as I want to get a bow for myself but was unsure if I wanted to go traditional or get a modern one-the one I currently have is an old PSE Predator compound-very old. So right as I was being helped, the guy went to help another customer, who looked like a regular there and was showing off his specially ordered bow from some manufacturer. I was disappointed that they only had left handed long bows but tried it anyways. Still not being helped even though I said I wanted to order a bow for my kid, I decided to try out a bow and see how the new ones shot. So after I helped my kids shoot, and when they were done, I sent about 6 arrows down range when the guy came up to confront me-the same one who left me to help another customer. He had a disgusted look on his face and said that if I just wanted to shoot, I could rent a bow for an hour. So I was there to buy a bow for my son and wanted to ask an expert on bows about a new bow for myself, but again he was very short with me seemingly not wanting to engage in talking about bows, just saying I can't come in and shoot. I asked him when he goes to buy a car, does he have to rent a car to test drive it to see if he likes it? I wondered why this "expert" did not want to talk to me about the bow I was obviously showing interest in, I even told him I do not know anything about the new bow and just wanted to try one or two out, I then asked him how many hours I have to rent their bows before I know which one I might like? I was disgusted that he didn't have time for me to use his knowledge to help me decide on a bow or to actually take my order for a bow for my son but just was disgusted that I was shooting and wanted me to pay for an hour and rent a bow. I was at Cabelas yesterday and was very impressed with their team members and how they helped both my sons shoot and recommended a couple products. But I wanted to make a second trip to the area, to go to Archery Country as i heard it was a family owned place and specialized in Archery and wanted to give them some business. Well, disgusted with my experience, I just told the guy I will go give my business to Cabelas as the service was a lot better there. Archery Country seems to be only for the experienced bow hunter and those that come in all dressed in their real tree shirts. Not for those trying to get back into the sport after 20+ years of not shooting-and definitely not for a dad trying to buy a couple bows for his kids who want to learn about archery. Do yourself a favor and drive by and just...
Read moreRecently got into archery as a hobby I could share with my 17 year old daughter who was interested in getting a bow. We stopped in at Archery Country and I was impressed with the attention the employees gave us. Since we knew very little about archery, they were very helpful in explaining the ins and outs of the types of bows and suggested a few models that would be good for beginning adults.
When we went to purchase a bow (Bowtech Fuel), Jake asked us several questions about how we would use it (were we going to share it, who would be the primary user, etc.) so he could suggest the best accessories for us and so he could set it up to best meet our needs. I was impressed that he never tried to upsell us on the accessories. He helped us each determine our appropriate draw length and draw weight, and then set the bow up to my daughter's specifications. One neat feature of the Bowtech Fuel is that the draw length can be easily adjusted, so Jake showed me how to make the adjustment so I could quickly switch between my daughter's draw length and my own so we could easily share the bow.
Once he had the bow set up for my daughter, he took the time to watch her shoot so he could get the sight dialed in. He also spent time watching her shooting technique, and offered suggestions to improve her form. All in all, Jake spent the better part of two hours with us to get our bow set up and get it dialed in. I was really impressed with the level of customer service we received.
Over the course of the next two months, my daughter and I spent a lot of time at their indoor range. We really got to know all of the guys that work at the shop, and they were always happy to make adjustments to the bow as necessary.
I finally grew tired of sharing the bow with my daughter so I decided to get one for myself. This time I worked with Dan and purchased a Bowtech Boss. The guys showed the same attention to detail that Jake had when we bought our first bow to get my Boss set up perfectly for my draw length and draw weight, as well as finer adjustments like peep sight location.
I feel fortunate to have such a great establishment in my home town. All of the guys that work there are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to take care of my daughter and I. I highly recommend stopping in, whether you are a veteran hunter or a newbie beginning to explore...
