Njswim Lakeside — Attraction in Roxbury Township

My son Jackson has always been afraid of the water (besides bathtime) every thing from 1 inch of water in a baby pool to a large in ground pool, to even a fun bright colored sprinkler. I asked a family member for swim lessons for Christmas in 2018 and enrolled jackson right away. For about 8 classes he screamed, cried, even yelled he had to use the bathroom in such fear, as a parent it was so hard to witness and embarrassing to say the least. I thought in no time I would be giving up on the swim lessons and just accepting that he is not a water lover, but something told me that I cant let him grow up this way because god forbid the worst nightmare of drowning happens. After some time, jackson started to settle down with the screaming and started to enjoy and look forward to going. The team at nj swim lakeside were always so patient and encouraging to help with his fears, especially Julia, Janie, Jess, and Sam. He loves going there now and has progressed tremendously. I have had a wonderful experience at NJ Swim. Both of my granddaughters now swim on their own and one of them is moving on to backstroke. What made NJ Swim different was Mr. Paul the manager and Miss Gabby the instructor. Both were true partners in helping my granddaughters learn to swim. They often worked as a team, in and out of the water, to get the strongest results for the girls. Mr. Paul always had a welcoming face with a warm “hello” for all of us. He was also extremely responsive to email and phonecalls when we had questions or needed to arrange a make-up. As the manager, and an excellent swim instructor, I would hear Mr. Paul giving pointers and suggestions to the other instructors, keeping them sharp and fresh at their own craft. Miss Gabby had just the right balance of encouragement and gentle firmness to keep the lessons safe and the girls progressing at swim. I can only hope that as we move to a closer location that we have half the wonderful experience we have...

I can’t say enough great things about Njswim Lakeside. We transferred from Njswim Sparta during February and we have had nothing but incredible customer service since. My son has been in the water babies program since he was 3 months old and he has learned so much from their program. I can proudly say that he can get to safety and back float by himself since being in their program and with the help from his father and I encouraging and repeating the exercises we have learned in the water babies class. We transferred him to a preschool class at the beginning of March and they have been so wonderful with him and so incredibly supportive during this transition. Miss Maria and Miss Gaby have been rockstars in the pool with him and Mr Paul has been so incredibly helpful behind the desk.
