This a wonderful place to visit if you love history and are into architecture. The building itself is gorgeous. The information found inside, and the way in which it is displayed, is a testament to the curators love for the city and history. There is a lot to read, as with any museum, and they have some hands on activities for the kids but not really someplace you want to take your kids if you want to benefit from all it has to offer. This was my first time and it does seem they are trying to be more kid friendly with the newer exhibits. The building was originally a post office and I was directed to begin at that exhibit. It was great. There is a look out and a talking portion that explains what you are seeing and why. The spiral stair cases and the coal mine exhibit were also my favorites. I like to touch things and I was happy that not every exhibit said do not touch. The logging exhibit smelled of fresh cut wood. A smell that triggers the child in me. I spent two and a half hours reading and learning about Saginaw, the surrounding area and even found a Western Michigan University Connection and a connection to the graduate class I am taking. I fully enjoyed my time there. I will have to go back because I was told they change out their exhibits every 3-6 months. Yay! Oh and it is only $3 if your from out of town. Free if you...

This building is Fabulous! There is a small parking lot in the rear of the building, so you do not need to use the street parking. You enter the museum from the back of the building and are instructed to walk to the front to check-in. Then you may proceed from there to explore the exhibits.

The cost to get into the museum was $1.00 for adults and .50 cents for kids. There are 3 levels to see. There is an elevator. There are nice clean bathrooms. There is a small selection of souvenir T-shirts and such. This museum is well kept. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

The exhibits are great with lots of facts and stories to read. Or, just look and take it all in that way.

I loved that they had current Saginaw High School athletes displayed along with the...

Some of the exhibits on the main floor felt a little average-small-town-museum (which is not intended as an insult, I love these sorts of places), but then we went to the lower level. The archaeology exhibit was so extensive I didn't believe all the artifacts were local to the area until I went back and reconfirmed in the signage! Honestly, for the amount we paid for admission ($5 for our whole family!) I would have been content just to see the old post office content!

Given the variety of the exhibits, the beauty of the building, and the low cost of admission, I think nearly anyone would find something here interesting enough to be worthy of...

This is a really cool museum at an extremely affordable price! There were 4 of us and we paid the family price of $5. Alot of history and artifacts and there is something for everyone. They are also open many days of the week including some holidays as we went on the 4th of July while in Saginaw for the Holiday weekend. Everyone was very friendly as well and the entire building was very clean and kept up well. I didn't take many pictures because I was living in the moment this day but the whole experience was better than expected from what I seen online and in other people's reviews. Would definitely recommend to go at least once!
