The place is amazing for dog lovers. The chapel brought up so many emotions of my past fur kids. We took pen to paper and left them each a loving tribute. The grounds were nice but the ponds were dry surely due to the drought conditions this year, but wide open enough for your pal to get a good romp and the zoomies. Why the 3 star review.... We are visiting from out of state and drove an hour and 1/2 from our AirBNB to visit here and the immediate confrontation we experienced with my dog by the gallery cashier was uncalled for. While I have an intact male Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Finn is impeccably trained as he is my service dog, not emotional support, not my pet, my service dog. I am an Army Veteran. The lady employee immediately wanted me to leash Finn...which caused much confusion to me as the Dog Mountain creedo is that it welcomes all creeds, all breeds no dogma allowed at this leash free park. She did not want Finn in the gallery because he was a bully breed that was going to "pee everywhere". I told her he would not and I was confused thinking this was a leash free area. She insisted that because he was intact he would pee everywhere, I firmly said he would not as he was my service dog. As far as I am concerned the bad attitude should have ended right there but she continued and then said "I bet that he will pee inside". My partner and I both said no, he is a trained service dog and we'll take that bet. Mind you Finn was being greeted by all 3 of the unleashed gallery shop dogs without issue during this whole confrontation. I finally relented and just asked my partner to get his leash and his service dog vest. I then waited by the car since we were parked in the disabled parking spot right by the gallery front door and asked my partner to go inside and clarify where dogs need to be leashed. FYI dogs are required to be leashed inside of the chapel and inside of the gallery. However, I recommend that the employees brush up on ADA regulations as service dogs are not required to be leashed if the environment impedes their ability to perform their job or if being leashed is a safety concern to the service dog. I do want to thank and acknowledge the other gallery employee that was very welcoming and greeted Finn after we returned from our tearful time at the chapel. And guess what....he didn't pee inside...

Read moreThis place is a GEM in Vermont! My Aunt recommended it and she was so right! Not only is the art and chapel a sight to behold but the nice trail walk is splendid too. We loved seeing all of the love for long lost fur kids. It brought tears to all of our eyes, not for the sadness but the beauty and love. We then walked the trails and as an amateur photographer I could have gone crazy with the views! This is a place to get family pictures, senior or pictures and a wedding would be fabulous at this spot! They have a dog pond to have the dogs swim and play ball too! The trail was easy for the kiddos and full of beautiful views with so many wild flowers. All through the trail was sculptures that truly added to the walk. We were there for about 3 hours and it wasn’t enough to just soak it all in, but we were on a time restriction. We made a donation to enjoy the grounds, based off their suggestions and it was worth every penny. Highly recommend to packing a lunch to have a beautiful picnic...
