I recently had the pleasure of engaging with Peter Lord at Chimney Doctors for some much-needed repairs on our chimney, and I couldn't be more impressed with the results. From start to finish, their professionalism, expertise, and dedication to quality were evident, making them an easy choice for anyone in need of chimney repair services.

If there were an Olympic event for chimney wizardry, Ryan from Chimney Doctors would take home the gold—no competition, just him standing on the podium, holding a chimney brush like a torch. This man doesn’t just seal, clean, fix, advise on chimneys; he restores faith in good, old-fashioned service with a smile.

Ryan arrived right on time, radiating expertise and a “no soot left behind” attitude. He explained everything in a way that even my dog seemed to understand, and he treated our home like it was his own (meaning no mess, no stress, and no surprise raccoon tenants left behind). By the time he was done, our chimney was working so well it changed the entire temperature of our house.

Beyond his technical skills, Ryan is just a great guy—kind, funny, and the type of person you’d want at your family’s holiday dinner (or at least as your go-to chimney guy for life). If you need chimney work done and you don’t call Ryan, honestly, I just have questions.

JoshK.’s team (including Nick S. and others) was great to work with. They were friendly, communicative, and flexible. The project just wrapped, so I cannot speak to longevity, but initial impressions are great. I would be happy to have him and his team do other projects in the future.

Separately, I wish the office-based/sales team was better to work with. Their initial assessment of the project fell short and additional work was only identified after Josh’s team started the project. When photos were shared, it was clear that this issue should have been obvious to a trained eye. This Miss limited our ability to get competitive bids and added thousands to our bill. Looking back, when I made my initial call I was told there would be a 2hr inspection. That did not occur, which is why the work was missed. When a third issue was identified by Josh’s team (so thankful he brought it to my attention!) the sales team said they would come out to inspect with a camera, but that also didn’t happen.

If it weren’t for Josh’s team I would be completely unaware of these major problems with our chimney. I’m thankful for his communication and integrity. I wish I could say the same for the other side...
