So here's the plan, my friend is coming here for a brunch date with a mysterious tinder boy and she needs me there for protection. So I arrive early and hangout with a book until they arrive. All is well and my friend is safe. I had the sudden urge to explode everything I just ate out of my body, probably from the six pots of coffee I drank, and I use the bathroom only to find the toilet out of order. Luckily I'm a toilet mechanic [I am not professionally trained to work on toilets in any way] and I take a look under the hood. Classic issue with the flusher-ma-bob dingling around not doing it's job, so I pop that baby back in place [I hooked the chain to the flushing handle back onto the flusher thing]. Worked like a charm, for two seconds, and then immediately fell back off after I flushed it. Little did I care the job was done, but oh no an old woman goes in after me. I frantically scurry back to my booth because this old woman probably thinks I broke the toilet. Anyway the food was alright here, the service was a little weird, but...

My best friend and I have been coming to Egg & I for years, we used to go to the one on lyndale before it was shut down and it was our absolute favorite breakfast spot. We always had exceptional service there and they knew our faces the moment we walked in. I am sad to say the experience at Egg & I off University is hardly the same. We were sat in a booth against a wall and the woman “serving” hardly talked to us. She took our order from behind the wall instead of coming around to the table, she ignored us the entire time and was just rude and short with us. She then proceeded to stand at the table behind us and talked and laughed with them very loud so much so that it was obvious her rudeness was intentional. This is the not the first time our experience didn’t match the lyndale Egg & I location.Every time we have come in to the one off university something has gone wrong. The service just isn’t the same. I am very disappointed, we will not be...

I like the sunny open atmosphere of the egg and I and we have been there many times. This morning was the last time we are going there. I ordered a senior special and received one pancake two strips of bacon and a hard poached egg. I got the waiters attention and showed him how hard my egg was and he replied " oh, so you want a soft egg?" I've always ordered a poached egg expecting a soft egg that I can dip my toast into. They did remake my poached egg but I thought it was strange. My daughter's omelette was dry/ overcooked. And everything was overpriced, for instance, $6.95 for a side of bacon, $9.95 for my senior special that didn't even fill me up, and $4.10 for a very mediocre cup of coffee. I seriously think the coffee at McDonald's is better. By the time the tip was added, we ended up spending more than we did having drinks and happy hour specials at "crave". It just isn't worth it and we...

this was my first time coming here w some friends and i think we will for sure be coming back. my friend described the prices as she felt that we were robbing them— that’s how cost efficient we felt the food was. my bill for the pancake and french toast on the first 3 plates came out to be about $8. hers for the eggs, hashbrown, and kamikaze pancake came out to $16. our brunch was delicious: my pancake and french toast had the perfect balance of sweetness and the hashbrowns were amazing. we also realized that the restaurant also hosts a christmas market at this time of year, and so it was fun to stroll around and take a look at all the items up for display. because of this though, you will get other diners walking by your table to take closer looks at items.

I recently dined at this restaurant and was truly impressed by the outstanding service provided by Carrie. Her attentiveness and warm demeanor, really elevated my experience and showcased the value of this establishment. While I found the food to be decent, I ordered the Eggs Benedict and have certainly had better elsewhere. The atmosphere was pleasant, but it didn't quite stand out. However, Carrie's exceptional service made the visit worthwhile. Overall, if you're looking for a place where you're treated with care and attention, this restaurant is worth a try, especially if you have the pleasure of being served by Carrie!

Very unique place. Pricier than most typical breakfast places but worth the visit. Service was quick, server was attentive, refills were on time and my order was on point. Ordered a eggs Benedict for $16. The English muffin was perfectly toasted, the slice of Canadian bacon was thick and perfectly salty; The egg was nicely soft poached and runny; the hollandaise was seasoned well and not overly salty and creamy; topped with a perfect pinch of paprika! The hashbrowns could have been more crispy but the flavor was great. One of the better places for eggs Benedict vs your typical Perkins or Denny's-but location is key!
