Marydale Park — Attraction in Saint Paul

I'm really glad the neighborhood has a place like this. I just wish it was better maintained. There's a nice walking path around the little lake. Great for a people run or for walking the dog. There are picking tables on the west side of the lake. A playground area to the south of the lake. Really close to Connie's Creamy Cone for snacks. Unfortunately there is a fair amount of garbage floating around. Also, many of the picnic tables have chipped and pealing paint. I'll keep going here because it's still a nice green area and not as crowded as Como but I wish it was taken...

Marydale isn't far from Como Park, so it tends to be overshadowed. It doesn't have the recreational facilities of Como Park, so it isn't a good place for large-group picnics or gatherings.

But that makes it perfect for individual walkers or small family picnics. There are picnic tables, although few places to light fires, and the lake is beautiful. There is one trail, which circles the lake -- and it is never crowded, as the trails at Como are. A much more natural, scenic place than Como. It's not fancy. But it's one of the most beautiful parks...

Very nice , small but intimate park.great for families with small children .In the center there is a small pond with a walk out dock. The pond also has a walking trail that takes you around the entire pond . Easy to walk around due to the size. Enough to get a easy work out in or take the children on a walk without the walk being strenuous. there is also park benches , picnic tables , a playground and places for BQ.
