Lay’s Food Market — Local services in Saint Paul

For 40 years this was my go to neighborhood store, but no longer, prices on what little they carry is so outrageous! And they carry NOTHING that kept me a customer. The quality of the meat make my stomach turn, I wouldn't feed it to the dog! The produce is now packaged so you have to buy several questionable items for just 1 that you ran in there for, it is a very limited selection. Where the produce once sat now sits empty with exception of potatoes that looked like they were rotting. They stock the coolers with soda they got for Sams club or Costco, and that too is limited. They do not carry regular Coke. I went in for soy sauce the other day, I asked for help and the Asian woman brought me to the "American" soy sauce, not what I was looking for at all. I bought it in a pinch paid 2x as much if I had just ran to Cub. But time and distance was what kept me a customer. The fact when it was owned and operated by the Kamp family they carried things that Cub stopped carrying. Warning ‘‘This has turned to an Asian store. A Asian kid was running around barefoot touching things smh. They lunchmeat is brown. The prices has gone up. Look at the latest reviews just bad. Blacks BET NOT go in that store. Our family and neighbors has been going to this store over 20 years and Never again. They are running a family business that’s slowly turning to an Asian corner store. Our family and everyone I know that has been going here are going other places now. Take a walk around the store. The prices are going up and the meat packages change prices every month. They remove some items from the packages and istead of it going down it has increased. The prices of the meat packages have increased by $30 to $50 dollars. I wish Mr. Kamp hadn't sold the store the meat packages stayed the same not different each month. They have lost my business.
