Discovery World Learning Center — Attraction in San Antonio

I have so many good things to say about this facility. First and foremost, I love all the staff here at Discovery World Learning Center - Northeast Location as does my son and daughter.

My daughter had been going to this location since 2010 when she was three years old. I was looking for a facility to care for her on a very short notice. I must have looked at about five other facilities before stopping here. The other facilities were giving me such a hard a time because of the short notice. At the time the director was Mrs. Mel. I told her my situation and she welcomed us with open arms. I was and still am blessed that someone like Mrs. Mel welcomed my daughter to this facility on such short notice. After Mrs. Mel relocated and the assistant director Mrs. Ann became the director, I had no doubt my daughter was still in good hands. My daughter was going to this facility up until this past summer when she felt she was too old/big to go to daycare since she is now entering middle school. Now here we are eight years later with my two year old son who is at this very location and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When I went to enroll my son, I was so happy when I saw that Mrs. Ann was still the director. That gave me the reassurance that my son was going to be in good hands just as my daughter was all those years before. It was bittersweet seeing Mrs. Ann leave, I must say, however I do like the new director Mrs. Taylor. She’s funny, outgoing, and very knowledgeable. The one thing I really do like about her is if I have a question and she doesn’t know the answer right then and there. She informs me she doesn’t have the answer, but will get back to me in a timely manner with the answer, and she always does.

my Daughter has been enrolled in this daycare for about 6 months now and if it wasn’t for Ms. Tammy and her afternoon teacher I would have probably found her another daycare by now. The staff is friendly when they feel like it. One incident I had dropped my child off and the two teachers in the room were talking amongst themselves and did not even acknowledge my daughter as I walked her in. I stood and waited to see if they were going to welcome her and I had to mention to who I’m guessing is the new director that I was waiting for them to seat her but they were to busy talking to each other and she then got up to let them know. There is a lack of communication with the morning and afternoon teachers not very often I see my daughters behavior chart on a color other then green but the couple of times that her color is in yellow and I ask why the afternoon teacher isn’t sure because it happened during the morning. Then lately they have been closing the place early and I understand it’s for the holidays but getting the notice two days before makes it difficult to explain to my employer that I am unable to work my full shift since I wasn’t allowed enough time to have my shift covered. Also my daughters backpack and a jacket have come up “missing” and is nowhere to be found so I’m guessing another child walked out with it, and my daughters blanket always ends up in a different room. I feel like they could be a lot more organized when it comes to the kids personal belongings. They do teach the kids a lot of stuff and do lots of activities. Lots of Pros and Conns of course.

I highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for amazing care for their kids. I am very protective of my boys, and my Mother was the only one who used to watch them, but I needed a reliable daycare I could trust and I’m so glad I found this one. My Kids have been at this center for about a year, and my youngest calls this his “school” and he loves going everyday. He’s always excited to wake up to go every day. Ms. Lisa is amazing with the kids, and treats them like her own and is extremely communicative with me in regards to my son’s behavior, their well being, and any important information. I can always express any concerns, and Ms. Lisa makes sure that we are always on the same page at all times.

During the summer my oldest Son got to go on field trips, and do special activities, and it really helped him enjoy his summer. Made me very happy to know that he was having fun too during his summer. I wouldn’t take my kids to any other daycare, and I commend Ms. Lisa, and Ms. Chanel and all the other teachers and staff for always going above and beyond for our kids!

The center is always clean, my boys do not get sick, they get healthy meals and snacks, and most importantly it’s safe with doors locked at all times. I can’t say enough about this center. Just know your kids are in good hands when they are here. Thank you for a great...
