I went to see jhope for his tour this past week on March 27th and the treatment i received from the venue staff was absolutely terrible. i don’t know if it’s the building’s new management but ever since they turned the venue into Frost bank center, their accommodations for guests with disabilities have been anything but pleasant or even remotely helpful. i go to concerts often, even traveled for them as well, and EVERY single venue i’ve been to has ALWAYS accommodated me to my needs. whether that’s changing my ticket to ADA when i didn’t have one, to escorting me to a specified entry into the venue to make my entry and other disabled guests’ entry smooth. sadly this wasn’t the case at frost bank center. i’m not normally one to leave reviews but this has already been a reoccurring problem the last few times i’ve been to this venue. my boyfriend and i made sure to arrive a few hours early, so we could locate a handicap entry and line up. the ticket said the show started at 8pm, so generally by assumption i expected the gates would open up for us to go in around 7pm. to my complete surprise we weren’t inside until 7:45. i believe it has to do with the lack of staff/ security outside the venue, who’s purpose of directing crowd traffic would’ve made entry much more efficient, for me it was definitely the dismissive and disrespectful attitude of this one staff member we had to flag down through the window to ask for help getting in, and yet again, i was disregarded by being told “you have your own personal wheelchair so i don’t see why we would need to accommodate you.” when i explained that i didn’t ask for a wheelchair, just an entry point, i was very rudely told “guests in wheelchairs don’t get special treatment or entry, you’ll be waiting at the general doors with everyone else”. i would like to say that this was the end of it , and that the process of getting to our seats and settling in for the show was smooth after wards, but yet again i was not only disappointed but baffled when i was notified by my boyfriend that another staff member checking tickets in section 231 ADA was verbally threatening to make him leave unless he showed proof of tickets, after he calmly explained i had ran to the bathroom before the show. when i rushed back to our seats to diffuse the situation, i was not expecting the cold, aggressive greeting i received- if you could even call it that. before i could get a word out, i was cut off by “i need to see your tickets right now , if not you can’t be here and you’ll be asked to leave”. not even a “hello, may i please see your tickets” … nothing. at that point i was so over the whole ordeal, i just wanted the stress to be over. any excitement i had for the show was just gone.i just decided to let it go and cooperate so we could be left alone. only to find that we weren’t the only guests who were treated this way upon talking to two guests in our section right next to us. overall i enjoyed the show and will absolutely come back if any of my favorite artists come here, but if i have the choice, ill just travel to another city and save myself the embarrassment, stress and headache. i hope the venue management reconsiders their policies when it comes to ADA accommodation, because this was...
Read moreI went to see Stevie Nicks a week ago and she ROCKED San Antonio. However everything else was bad.
Firstly, it is such a mess for us to be dropped off. There is ZERO signage on how to park and when we get lost, there were either people yelling at us, or there was no one at all.
Secondly, I’ve never been a guy to be claustrophobic. But I have never felt so crowded. It seems like the people next to me are on top of me, and the seats are smaller than on a plane.
Thirdly, the mixing job was HORRIBLE! They had the one part of the drums turned up so loud that it vibrated the room, and also gave me a headache even though I had ear protection. It was also so loud that I could hardly hear anything else, just the drums vibrating the whole room. Also it seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. Stuff was turning up and down so much that once I liked something, it was turned down.
Fourthly, there is, for whatever reason, a policy in place, that all drinks (including bottled water) must be poured into a plastic cup with no lid. This is not only a useless policy, but completely unnecessary, unacceptable, and unhygienic.
Lastly, there were hardly any staff and most of the staff that was there were just unpleasant. Of course there were those who were very nice, but there were a whole bunch of staff who weren’t trying to help us, even when we asked them repeatedly for help.
Maybe others’ experience was better at this show. But I’m a musician and I don’t know if I’d accept an offer to come to this place on tour if I were to become the next big thing. Let’s also add that there were ads throughout the show on the side screens. I just wish that these venues would put the customers first instead of getting every penny out of every inch of...
Read moreMay 7th 2025 for a concert. Parking cost $35. You read that correctly. After walking close to a mile to the gate (no parking garage, so it is all just a vast sea of parking lot), I was turned away by the employees at the metal detectors because I had already emptied my pockets and had a vape (nicotine only) in my hand. I was asked to return to my vehicle and leave the vape in it; I replied "You know there's going to be hundreds of people inside smoking weed, doing Molly, ex, whatever else, but I can't have my vape?" The reply was "Venu regulations." So I went back to my vehicle and left my vape there. The next 4 hours inside was filled with plenty of weed smoke, and the lead singers of the two headlining bands smoke cigarettes and vape onstage during their performances; so did a lot of other people who managed to get it inside. Two beers cost $35 also. I am only guessing if the Spurs hadn't been so bad the past few years with a half-empty arena and the place literally giving seats away for free during that time, the place wouldn't have to extort the difference during events that people actually show up for. Handrails up/down the staircases are rickety due to poor design (many with only one support pole bolted into the cement instead of two), INADEQUATE restroom capacity, a single burger from Whataburger there is almost $11 before tax... Just what an overall dump of a venue for the cost extracted from its patrons. Thank goodness the bands were on-point! This was my first time here and I am NEVER going to this place again. There is talk of it being demolished and relocated; of that happens, get a sensible management group in...
